Using Zoho Expense, you can create expenses in any currency. In this page, you will learn about:

Adding a New Currency

If you do not find your currency in the existing list, you can add your currency. Hereโ€™s how:

  • Navigate to Admin > Settings > Currencies.
  • Click + New Currency.

  • Select the Currency Code in the pop-up that follows. The currency symbol will be auto-filled.

  • Select the decimal places of the exchange rate based on the currency.
  • Click Save. A new currency will be added to the existing list.

Editing or Deleting a Currency

  • Go to Admin > Settings > Currencies.
  • Hover over the currency you want to edit or delete.
  • Click edit and make the required changes. Click Save.

    Click delete and click Confirm to delete the currency.

Adding an Exchange Rate

If you have not enabled the automated currency conversion, you can add the exchange rate manually.

  • Navigate to Admin > Settings > Currencies.
  • Hover over the currency for which you want to add the exchange rate and click edit.
  • Click the Add exchange rate option in the bottom right corner.

  • Specify the Date as of which you have entered the exchange value.
  • Mention the exchange value relative to your base currency.
  • Click Save.

Once this is done, whenever you record an expense in a foreign currency, the expense amount will be automatically calculated based on this exchange rate.

Importing Exchange Rates

Besides adding the exchange rates manually, you can also import them. To import exchange rates:

  • Go to Admin > Settings > Currencies.
  • Click the Hamburger icon in the top right corner.
  • Click Import Exchange Rates.
  • Upload a file in CSV or TSV format.
  • Click Next.
  • Map fields from your uploaded file and click Next.
  • Click Import to import exchange rates to your Zoho Expense account.

Exporting Exchange Rates

To export exchange rates:

  • Navigate to Admin > Settings > Currencies.
  • Click the Hamburger icon in the top right corner.
  • Click Export Exchange Rates.
  • Select an export file format from one of the following formats:
    • CSV
    • XLS (XLSX)
  • Click Export and the data will be downloaded to your computer.
