Domain verification guide for popular DNS providers
When you set up your domain in the Zoho Mail Admin Console, verifying domain ownership is a mandatory step in the onboarding process. This verification confirms that you are the legitimate owner or administrator of the domain, allowing you to create professional, custom email addresses for your organization. Without completing this step, your domain cannot be activated for use with Zoho Mail, and email services will remain unavailable to your users.
To verify your domain, Zoho Mail provides three methods:
While most DNS providers support both TXT and CNAME options, the HTML file upload method requires access to your domain's web server and can serve as an alternative if you are unable to modify your DNS records.
Prerequisites
Before following the registrar-specific instructions, ensure that you have the following details ready:
- The unique TXT or CNAME verification value generated from your Zoho Mail Admin Console. To retrieve this, log in to your Zoho Mail Admin Console, navigate to the Domains section, select the domain you want to verify, and copy the verification value from the Verify Domain Ownership section.
- Login credentials for your DNS provider's account.
- Access and permission to edit the DNS records of your domain.
Note:
- If you do not have the required privileges to edit your DNS records, contact your domain administrator or DNS provider for assistance.
- The verification values are unique to each domain. Ensure that you copy the correct values from the Zoho Mail Admin Console before proceeding.
