As a business owner, if you want to grow, invest in these things-that's what we did

The Company

Scoop Energy Solutions Private Limited, along with its sister concern V9 Light Design, operates at the forefront of the building materials sector, specializing in electrical supplies. Over the past five years, the company has focused on architectural indoor lighting, providing technical lighting solutions for hotels, retail spaces, airports, and premium homes. Their design business supports the manufacturing arm, creating a robust, integrated offering for clients in the construction and architectural sector.

Discovering Zoho

Scoop Energy’s journey with Zoho began in 2011 with Zoho Invoice during their consulting phase. As the business evolved, they expanded their Zoho footprint, first adopting Zoho Expense, then Zoho People around 2016, and finally Zoho Payroll in 2019. This progression allowed them to streamline core business processes and manage their operations from anywhere in the world, a crucial factor for the founder who travels 10–15 days a month.

The challenge: Manual payroll

Before Zoho Payroll, payroll processing was a cumbersome, manual task. The team relied on spreadsheets, spending up to two days each month reconciling attendance records from multiple offices and making manual salary entries. This not only consumed valuable time but also risked errors and delayed salary disbursements, especially when the founder was traveling. Attempts to outsource payroll proved enviable due to the company’s size, highlighting the need for a flexible, scalable in-house solution.

The solution: Zoho Payroll

Implementing Zoho Payroll marked a turning point. Payroll processing time for both companies dropped from two days to less than 15 minutes per month. The process became seamless: employees receive reminders to update their records, and once data is in place, salary processing is quick and efficient.

Integration with Zoho’s HR and accounting modules means attendance, leave, and reimbursement data flow automatically, and finalized payroll details are instantly synced with Zoho Books for accounting. This end-to-end automation has enabled Scoop Energy to focus on core business activities while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
