Migrating from Other Processors
If you are an existing user of a payment gateway that uses a processor other than Stripe, follow the steps below.
Prerequisites: The card data can be migrated only when:
- Your Zoho Payments' account status is Active, and the business has been successfully onboarded.
- Your account with the other payment gateway is still operational. This ensures that all the data is migrated. Also, do not close the account for a few weeks following migration to process any refunds, respond to disputes, and prevent any interruptions with recurring payments for 3D Secure mandated cards.
Before the Migration
Make sure you have the following details ready before starting the migration process.
-
The name of your processor and your Account ID or Gateway ID.
Insight: You should find this in your Settings or Profile details.
-
An estimate of the number of records to be migrated from the following options
- Lesser than 100
- Between 100 to 100 thousand
- Between 100 thousand to 1 million
- Between 1 million to 10 million
- More than 10 million
Once you’ve collected the above details, drop an email to support@zohopay.com requesting a migration.
Initiating the Migration
Once the request is received, Zoho Payments will begin the migration process.
You will also have to contact your payment gateway to initiate the migration from their end or submit a migration form if it’s available on their website.
While submitting a migration form or email, request your payment gateway to share the following details:
- Customer details: Customer Name, Phone Number, and Email Address.
- Card information: Card Number, Expiry, and Card Holder Name.
- Billing Address.
- SCA status (or SCA Network Transaction ID) to reduce the decline of SCA mandatory cards.
During the Migration
After your payment gateway has received your request, kindly respond to their emails to validate the migration. If they send you a file with the details, ensure that all information, such as customer details, card information, and billing addresses, are available.
Review the files your payment gateway has shared and promptly respond to the emails. Zoho Payments will take care of the rest, complete the migration process, and map the files accordingly.
Note: In case of any failures, the team will get in touch with you.
After the Migration
Once the data has been added to Zoho Payments, they’re also associated with other Zoho Finance applications. Once completed, all cards associated with your payment gateway will be added to Zoho Payments.
To process payments without disruptions, you will have to choose the updated card and enable Zoho Payments as the payment option. Here’s how:
For a recurring invoice:
-
Go to the recurring invoice.
-
Click More and then Delete Card to remove the card associated with your existing payment gateway.
-
Then, Edit the invoice and enable Zoho Payments as the Payment Option.
-
Click Save. This will update the payment gateway in the recurring profile.
-
Now, click Associate Credit Card in the profile.
-
Select the card associated with Zoho Payments and click Proceed.
Now the payments will be processed as usual for the invoice.
For a subscription in Zoho Billing:
-
Go to the subscription.
-
Click More and then Remove Card to remove the card associated with Stripe.
-
Then, click the Associate Payment Option dropdown and then Associate Card.
-
Select the card associated with Zoho Payments and click Save.
Now the payments will be processed as usual for the subscription.
Note: Some 3D Secure mandated cards might face issues when used for customer off-session payments, including MOTO or recurring payments. In such cases, the card can only be used for on-session payments.
