A Journey through Zoho Mail 2022

On this progressive journey we have crossed many milestones. Through stormy rains and sunny plains, we have brought in new features, made enhancements, added new integrations for convenient usability, and introduced a few mobile apps to get things done for your business on the go.

Let's explore this adventurous journey Zoho Mail has been through to find 2022's year of updates.

Secure all of your emails

We wanted to ensure the safe transaction of all your emails, so we introduced a few security features. The Compliance and Security Dashboard gives you a comprehensive overview of the security configurations, compliance scores, and completion status for an action. And, SecurePass helps you send confidential data via emails that are passcode-protected.

Easy accessibility with integrations

We noticed that taking notes and tracking issues from emails while switching to multiple tabs was pretty inconvenient. So we integrated Jira and Evernote with Zoho Mail so you can manage your tasks and projects conveniently from the same tab. We also integrated IFTTT with Zoho Mail to let you automate email actions and triggers depending on inputs from various apps.

Snooze, set notifications, and share

We know that as a business owner, you might have to deal with a huge heap of emails every single day. So, to finish off your email tasks with a few clicks, we introduced the permalink option so you can share emails or email threads as a link. We introduced the ”Snooze emails” feature to store important emails to which you cannot respond immediately, but need to address later. We also brought the “Set Reminders” feature to keep you reminded of certain emails by sending notifications to your inbox, so you can relax in the knowledge that you won’t forget anything critical to your business operations.

Stylish, accessible, and secure

In 2022, we saw the customer base from the MEA region—who speak Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, and Hebrew—grow steadily. So to provide for their easier accessibility, we decided to wholly comply with the MEA format by changing to the RTL interface, which is in the right-to-left UI orientation. Along with this, we have removed colour-inversion issues and other inconsistencies, and have introduced basic screen reader support for those who are visually challenged and prefer having the screen text read to them. Finally, to ensure secured access to this new theme, we’re continually working towards attaining complete WCAG compliance.

Zoho Mail is VBSpam certified

We made a promise to ourselves to protect our customers' mailboxes from spam emails. To that end, we adopted the multi-layered spam control strategy where we efficiently protect our customers' mailboxes from all malicious threats, such as spam, phishing, viruses, ransomware, spear phishing, malware, and spoofing. Zoho Mail took part in the Q1 2022 VBSpam certification from Virus Bulletin, which is a world-renowned independent testing and certification body that has been reviewing and benchmarking security solutions for more than 20 years. We earned a final score of 99.57 out of 100, and we were also awarded the VBSpam Award for 2022.

Wrapping up 2022

Every year has a present for us, and this year is no exception. With upcoming features such as 'Mailbox delegation' which allows other users to create emails and respond to meeting requests on your behalf, 'Disposable email' which provides you with a temporary email address to post comments or view premium content and, enhancements which protect you from spoofing links and a responsive web app design for a convenient from all devices, we are working progressively to make your time with Zoho Mail more comfortable and secure.

We have received a bunch of awards and recognization through the year and we are very grateful to our customers across the globe and to our product team for helping us achieve them.

  1. Great stuff and amazing efforts. A first class E-mail service provider. If we could see an integration that enables scheduling meetings in Zoho but be reflected directly in Microsoft Teams as a booked spot would be a great step. Overall, I truly appreciate all zoho services and hope for more innovations in 2023.

  2. Our favourite from last year are Shared Mailboxes, but we miss subfolders as we know from Outlook and there is no possibility to forward an mail. Also would be great to have Shared Tags for that.

    1. Hi Mischa! Thank you for writing to us. We are glad that you find Shared Mailbox useful. As of now, we do not have any plans of supporting subfolders. We will be supporting email forwarding in our future updates. We have also forwarded to the Product Management team about the request to have shared Tags. Kindly reach out to us if you have any further queries.
