Boost productivity right from your inbox using WorkDrive’s add-in for Outlook

What does WorkDrive's Outlook add-in do? 

Emails still remain a primary form of communication for most organizations, and not all of them have a specialized content collaboration platform like WorkDrive, so a lot of collateral assets end up being transferred via email.

There are three actions you can do with the WorkDrive add-in:

• Upload email attachments from Outlook directly into WorkDrive 

• Save copies of your Outlook emails as .eml files

Upload email attachments right to WorkDrive

Sharing files with coworkers and clients is one of the most important things email is used for on a daily basis. This often leads to messy situations where you save your files somewhere on your device and then can't remember where it’s located. Or you're stuck searching through old emails to find an attachment.

With this add-in, you can now directly upload email attachments into your WorkDrive account. All you have to do is to simply select the files you want uploaded, designate a location in your WD account, and the add-in will do the rest.

Save copies of your emails as .eml files

As we said before, email remains an important tool in many different lines of work. Some of your emails could contain bills, compliance forms, tickets, and other files that need a backup (or two).

You can save an entire email’s content in the EML (electronic mail) file format. Now, you have an easier way to create backups of important messages and attachments that are readily viewable on WorkDrive.

Share WorkDrive files with links via Outlook

Lastly, WorkDrive always aims to reduce the number  of steps needed to get specific actions done in a timelier manner. Functions like sharing links (including external links) via email, WorkDrive Snap, or companion apps like Genie aim to help you get your job done with minimal app switching. This is where the quick link sharing feature comes into play.

External share links are one of the most key parts of improved collaboration and data collection when it comes to using WorkDrive. With this add-in, you can easily create and share links instantly via Outlook.
