Notebook introduces the concept of ‘Note Cards’. Note Cards are built-in templates for capturing various types of content inside Notebook. The Text Card lets you capture anything in a note, while a Checklist Card lets you create, well, checklists. There's also an Audio Card to record voice notes, and a Photo Card to snap moments. All Note Cards feature randomly generated colors that can be customized.
Notebook makes note-taking fun by providing an interactive experience. You can group Note Cards by pinching them together, then flick a group to view them. In landscape view, Note Cards behave like magnets when you group/ungroup them; you can even collapse your notes like an accordion.
Whether you capture your ideas through a quick note initiated from a 3D Touch or through the widget from the notification bar, Notebook lets you focus on your thoughts and not the tool.
Note Cards can be organized into Notebooks. Each notebook comes with a unique hand-drawn cover from our in-house artists. You can create your own covers by adding any image of your choice.
All of your notes are seamlessly synced across various devices and to the Zoho cloud. No matter which device you use, your notes are always up to date.

I love this app, but I didn’t sign in when I first started using it. When I try to log in with the new Zoho update, it says "Our records shows that you have already logged in as a different user. Do you still want to continue to login and remove the old user's data from this device?" How can I log in without having all of my notes deleted?
Hi, This message will be shown if you have previously signed in, and later trying to sign-in as a different user. If you had any un-synced notes in the previous signed-in, those data will be erased. If you’re in guest mode now, you can simply sign-in to the app, all your data will be synced without any issues. I love this app, but I didn't sign in when I first started using it. How do I sync an existing notebook? I want to keep my notebooks, when I sign up. How can I do that?
Hi Sophia, We have two modes in the app, guest mode and signed-in mode. In guest mode, all your data will be stored in local and in signed-in mode, all your data will be stored in the cloud. Now from guest mode, you can simply Sign-up to the app from settings. All your data from local will be automatically synced to the cloud and you'll be able to access it from any other device. Keep using the app and share your feedback to us.
Notebook is a very good app and recommend everyone to install it. This is the app where we can organiser ideas in the written form or recorded voice a simple text. Actually I want to ask a question though...... There is a option to organise a text as when we use this option the points will be automatically kept like a bold dot. But I want to keep special type of indication for special points. Like maybe instead of the bold dot keep some design like a fish or something else over if there is an option such, please help me ?

When I try to dictate using the mic icon on the keyboard on my iPad, it doesn’t work.
Hey John, There were few iOS 13 specific issues in the app earlier and the dictation issue is also one of them. We have fixed it in our latest version 5.4.8. Please update the app from App Store and try using the app.
Hi, love the app on iOS, Mac. What s the today card for on my watch? My assumption. 1. When you open watch, at the beginning of the day, choose today. 2. Any additional notes added on the watch or devices will line up for that day. 3. Fill in the date on the device for the Today Card. 4. Use it as a marker then to gather all the notes from a particular day.
Hi John, Strings ’Today’ and ‘Notebook’ in watch are just templates that we’ve provided for users understanding. On tapping ‘Today’, just a note with content ‘Today’ will be created. And your suggestions for this flow are actually good. We really appreciate it. I’ll take this to the development team and we’ll provide this feature, if feasible.
Just setting up the app on my ipad, iphone and iwatch I cannot create a new note on my watch. The display on my watch does not look like the note display on my ipad or iphone. The list entries are all strung together, no separation between list entries.
Hey John, We would like to let you know that, Notebook is specifically designed for iWatch based on the limitations that Apple provide. From iWatch, you can take notes by tapping on ‘Text note’ icon and use audio transcript or scribbler to create a Text note. And you can also create audio notes by simply tapping on the 'Record' icon. The notes taken in watch will be synced to your phone. Regarding the list preview issue in iWatch. Please write us to support@zohonotebook.com, our support person will help you with it.

AMAZING APP!!!!! I’ve ditched countless apps & replaced them with this, which is SO much better than anything else out there, I honestly can’t fault this app.... Except for one thing & it’s unfortunately a huge issue for me & the few other people I know that use it too.... There doesn’t seem to be any way to type your notes in landscape view on the iOS app version? It’s prevented me from many times not typing things up when I really should because for me & many others I know, typing in portrait view (holding phone upright) takes SOZ much longer so many times I ditch notetaking at times I’d like to simply because I wouldn’t have the time if I had to type everything in portrait view, I’ve found the other people I know that also use Zoho Notebook say the same thing, I’ve had to hang onto another writing app just because that app allows me to turn my phone sideways & type in landscape view, just for me to turn copy & paste whatever I’ve written in there over to my Zoho Notebook app where I wanted it typed in the first place, it’s really annoying!! ?? ...I even downloaded the iOS Zoho Writer app hoping that’d at least have the landscape view option, I figured it’d at least be able to transfer typed things from there over to Notebook faster/easier considering they’re both Zoho apps, but nope, Writer doesn’t have that function either!! ?? I’ve searched countless times for an answer to this problem & done countless updates just hoping, Best I could find was instructions for how to type in landscape view in Writer, but those instructions are obviously for PC or MAC, definitely not for the iOS app, the settings I need to do it don’t even exist in the iOS app that I can find ??, as for Notebook which is where I REALLY want the landscape view function, couldn’t even find a mention of the problem let alone a solution, I’ve waited almost a year, please, PLEASE add the option to type in landscape view Zoho Notebook for iOS, it’s the only thing I can really fault the app on, but it’s a big one for me & others I know!! ???

Please, PLEASE add the ability to TYPE notes while holding my phone sideways (landscape view/mode), there’s a setting to “view notes in landscape view”, but that just seems to be a “visual thing”, I’m desperate for the ability to be able to turn my phone sideways & have the note turn with it to suit so I can type that way, typing while holding my phone sideways is the ONLY way I type anything of significance as it’s 10x faster for me, almost all apps have that ability, but can’t find any way to do it in this app? I absolutely LOVE this app by the way, that would honestly be my only complaint that really alters my ability to use the app, pleeeease add the ability to TYPE while holding my phone sideways? I’m using the iOS app? ???

Hello, it is a great notebook app but one big feature missing is the ability to create and modify tables. Even the most basic apps like Apple Notes have this feature. When can we have this in Notebook?

I definitely second that request. The lack of both tables and headlines are the two things that keep me from using this app. Otherwise, Zoho Notebook seems like a good notebook app.

How do I change my email that I used to set up the app in order to receive reminders to my current email? Also, is there a way I can add those reminders to automatically show up in my calendar?
Hey Jennifer, To receive reminders to other mail, login to accounts.zoho.com > Profile > Email Address > Add Email, add your new mail here. After adding your secondary Email, make it as Primary one by clicking on ‘Primary mail’ icon which you’ll see when you mouse hover on the Secondary mail address. Once the new mail is made as Primary one, you’ll start receiving reminders to it. We are working on integration with other apps. Soon it may be integrated with Google Calendar. We will get you notified once this feature is made live.
I don't see a way to archive a notebook ? I have done projects cluttering the main view making things difficult. If I could maybe at least have a way to collect or export done notebooks into a retrievable archive that would help. Thanks
Hey Jez, As of now, we don’t have such functionality. We have an option to Export your notes individually as znote and it can be imported later at any point of time. To export a note, open the note > click ‘Export’ > Export as ZNote. Feature to export multiple notes at a time and exporting a Notebook is on our road map and will be provided in one of our future update.
Accidentally deleted one notebook list. Very important. How can I retrieve it? Name of list is Cal Trip. I don't see anything about feedback or User Log. Is there a User Manual?
Hi, All your trashed items will be available in the Trash folder. Please click Menu > Trash, select the items to be recovered and tap ‘Recover’. If you've emptied your Trash folder, then your data can not be recovered. And to send feedback from the app, click Menu > Help & Feedback > Send feedback. We’ve also given FAQ link in the same page.

I have to manipulate notebook 5.0.7 in order to write in a note that I have created! Sometimes it won't let me in a note that I have created. If I back out of the program until it goes away and start over sometimes it will let me in a note. Very frustrating.

I can’t seem to add a checklist item to a existing notecard via the Apple Watch. Will this feature be added? All I want to do is have a shared grocery list between my iPhone and Apple Watch where I can add items via the iPhone and Watch, but I can’t find a simple app that will let me do that. :(

Hi, It is not possible to group your Notebooks but you can group your note cards within a Notebook. To group note cards, pinch in two cards or multi select the notes to be grouped and tap ‘Group’ option. You can also name those groups. How can I import a PDF and annotate?
Hey Robyn, You can simply share a PDF file from other apps to Notebook or click on the Attachment icon within the app, browse files and import. To annotate a PDF, open file > click ‘Export’ icon > Share with other apps > Create PDF > Tap on Pen icon at the top right and edit. After editing, click on Done > Delete PDF - to save the changes. Hi, Yes, it is possible. We have Sort settings in the app. On setting it to ‘Custom order’, you can rearrange the Notebooks in any order. In iOS, Android and Mac application, to change the Sort settings, goto Settings > Sort By. In web app, click on Sort icon at top left and select you preferred order from the list. How do I transfer notes to a computer so I can print them?
Hi, You can simply print your notes from mobile devices without sharing it to your computer. From iOS, 1. Open the note. 2. Click ’Share’ option from the bottom bar. 3. Chose ‘Export as PDF’ > ‘Print’ and select the printer. From Android, 1. Open the note. 2. Click more option at the top right. 3. Chose ‘Print’ and select the printer. From Web and desktop app, 1. Open the note. 2. Use shortcut key ‘Cmd + P’ from Mac or ‘Ctrl + P’ from Windows.
Can you zoom into or expand pdf files? I can't read some of my documents well.

Can I create a folder within a Notebook? Can't seem to figure that out
Hi Raina, You can create group within Notebooks. You can have any number of groups within a Notebook. To create a group, long press and select the notes to be grouped, and chose ‘Group’ option. You can also name your Groups by clicking on more option in the group and closing ‘Set title for the group’ or by simply opening the group and entering the Title.
Okay, this is something that absolutely needs to be fixed. I am an extremely tech-savvy person, so the fact that I've spent 30 minutes pulling my hair out, means this needs to be addressed: In downloading the app on MAC, you enable the user to skip creating a ZoHo account. Great. That's nice and refreshing that we are not forced to create an account to try it out. But then, I fell in love with the app and wanted to get it on my phone. Downloaded it onto my phone. Now, as far as I know, it is next to impossible to take the notebooks created on my MAC, which is not linked to an email, and get them onto my iPhone. The app on the Mac has no 'sign in' or 'create a log in' tab as the iPhone app does. I created an account on my iPhone, but have 0 capability to import the Notes I created on my MAC onto my iPhone because the desktop version does not allow you to create an account if you SKIP the option to begin with. Extremely, extremely frustrating - and I've tried every single tab on the iPhone in the settings option and nothing allows me to import them.
Hi, To login to your account in Notebook Mac application, 1. Open the app and click on 'Notebook' in the menu bar. 2. Click Sign in option to login. (or) 1. Open the app and press (cmd + ,) keys to open Notebook Settings. 2. Select ‘Account’ tab and sign in to your account. Use the same account which you have used in iPhone so that all your notes from Mac will be synced across your devices.

I am contemplating going from Evernote Notebook. I understand I can migrate my information into Notebook. I have a quite a large number of tags in one notebook in Evernote. How does this information to appear in your app since you do not have tags?
Hi John, As of now, your notebooks and note cards will be migrated but the tags in Evernote will not be reflected in Notebook as we don’t support this feature. Once we start supporting the feature, it will also be migrated and you would be able to see the same in Notebook.
Does anyone know how to export notes from my iPhone native app to the Notebook app?
Hey Sidney, Currently, we have import notes feature only from Evernote app. In future, we would start supporting import notes from other apps too. Now, to export your note from Notes app, open the note and click Share option and select Notebook app. Bulk export from Notes app is not possible.
How do you change the cover image? Great app but to be honest kind of a giant pain to figure out stuff that SHOULD be simple.
Hey Christina, To change the notebook cover, just swipe it towards left and click on info(i) icon. If you're a web user, just right click over the notebook and select "Change Cover" option. Hi, if I write a note and post some photos there, how can I share the photos only but not the whole note coz when I click the photos, no share button but editing photos tools are shown. Thanks.

Hi. how do i lock one notebook only? When i press locket locks everything!
Hi, We maintain only two states within our app, locked and unlocked. If you lock one of your notebook, all the notebooks for which you have set lock, will be locked. If you want to remove lock for a notebook, swipe the notebook, click on info(i) and select ‘Remove lock’. Once lock is removed, locking other notebook will not lock this one.
Hey it's a nice app. Great experience so far. I wanna know where are my notes backed up? and I can't find a backup option there either to manually backup.
Hey Ayesha, If you’re a signed in user, you need not to worry about backup. All your data will be synced and can be accessed from any devices. We also have backup option for every individual cards. In iOS, open your note, click on share option and select “Backup as ZNote”. In Mac, right click on the note, select Export. In Android, open your note, click on more option > Export > Export as ZNote. Exported notes will be backed up as .znote which is our Notebook app specific format. You can import those notes to Notebook through “Import ZNote” option from settings. In Mac, you can simply drag and drop the note. Backup as ZNote for multiple notes at a time is not yet implemented and this feature will be provided in our future update. How do you "organise cards into notebooks".See no instructions.
Hi, You can use our Sorting feature to organise your note cards within Notebook. We are yet to add this feature in our Help document. If you're using web app, you'll find the Sort icon at the top left in Notebook/Notecard view. If you're using any other platform, you'll find the sorting option in Notebook Settings page. I am on pc and can not even work out hoe to title a notebook tutorials go to syncing with other devices and all the stuff i am not interested in I just want a series of notebooks that I can find and read at will
Hi, To rename your notebook, i) Just swipe the notebook and click on info icon, change the notebook name and click 'Enter' to save or ii) Just click over the title, change name and click 'Enter' to save. For several months, my wife and I have been using Notebook on our iOS devices (one iPhone and iPad per person). It's been great. Love the organization, the look, speed, Zoho's philosophy. We were ready to finally dump Evernote off our devices when suddenly, last week, we couldn't get Notebook to open. It seems to open for a split second, but instantly disappears from screen. My wife wrote Support about this a week ago, but hasn't gotten a response. Reloading doesn't fix the problem. In my case, at least, Notebook was failing on my iPhone, but I could still work with it on my iPad. Just now, I noticed that it's failing on the iPad, too. (iPad 4 mini, running 11.3.1.) This failure does happen to coincide with upgrading from our iPhone 6 devices to iPhone 8 Plus. So, we're wondering if maybe there's an iPhone 8 Plus-related glitch which in turn synchs to the iPads. Has anyone else had this happen lately--an immediate crash upon opening, every time? Anyway, we are eager to solve the problem and get back to work on this much-used app.

This is an incredibly well-designed, elegant, useful utility. It's really impressive. It performs some extremely powerful organizing functions, offering users relevant choices, but not so many that it become tedious. After using years of mediocre-designed utilities, this is one that is really smart plus it's aethetically lovely. So thanks, and good job. Hi, Once you've installed the application, you'll see on-boarding screen first on opening the app. If you have skipped the login and entered the app as a guest user, please go to settings page and scroll down to the bottom, option to Sign In and create account will be shown. I opened zoho on 2 device. Due to storage problem if i delete from one, it also delete from other.please tell me how deal with it

So if you delete a note from one device, it will be deleted in other devices also. Hi! I love the app, but there's one thing that bothers me. I open a pdf in Notebook and highlight it or make comments on the pdf and after I close the document and re-open it, all those changes are lost. Is there a way to save those changes???

How can I print something from the notebooks?
Hi, You can print your Text card, Check list card and Photo cards from our app. In iOS, i) For Text card - open the note, click ‘Export’ button and select “Export as PDF”, then choose ‘Print’ from the list. ii) For Check list and Photo cards - open the note and click ‘Export’ button, you’ll find the print option in the list. In Android, you’ll find the print feature on clicking the more option within the note. Mac users can use default shortcut CMD+P to print your notes. Is there a help forum for Zoho Notebook (Mac/IoS)? I underlined a paragraph heading on a text card, and now cannot remove the underline feature for subsequent text. When I click on the U to stop the underline, nothing happens -- The B for bold and I for italics work fine. the U appears to be stuck in the on position. Please help.

I see everyone has been asking about an app for Windows. I have a surface 3, and I honestly, I can't find a good app that will allow me to write notes, as well as upload pdf files and be able to make notes on (pdf) files and then organize them into a note book. With that said, I'm really looking forward to your program for Windows. Will it be available this year 2017 or next 2018. Thanks!
Hi, Yes, in our Notebook app, you can write notes, upload PDF docs and also organise your notes. Our team is working hardly on Windows version to release it as soon as possible. Until the release of Windows version, we suggest you to use the Notebook web version. You can sign up to web app and start creating notes. Once the windows version is available, you can login to it with the same credentials and all your notes will be automatically synchronised.

How do I archive my notes as PDFs? Currently there is no option for this, this should be a no brainer for exporting all notes. How do i export sound files, notes, etc. Will you be adding a website capture ability like DevonthinkPro?

We have "Export as PDF" function in our app. If you're an iOS user, open the note and click on the Export icon from the bottom bar, you'll see the "Export as PDF" icon in the popup list. If you're an Android user, open the note and click on the more option at the top right, you'll find the option in the list. And you can export your audio notes by opening the note and clicking on Export icon. Exporting multiple items at a time is not supported now, we will add this in future update. Maybe their system won't handle the surge in usage if they release a desktop version. I'm learning to live with OneNote, so maybe Notebook isn't crucial after all. I had not know about Google Keep. Interesting since I used Google Notebooks ages ago. Guess I'll check that out. By the time Notebook unwraps the desktop version, who is going to care?
I have recently started using Google notes As well. I don't know if their system would handle it or not. I am not a programer but, honestly it seems like they put more effort into their Apple users, because they have had a version for Apple desktops for at least a year now.

I am enjoying notebook but I find myself going over to other 'less attractive' programs due to the apparent inability to export whole notebooks. Is this a feature that is possible to add? Love the App! But.....(there's always the but), I need to be able to have many multiple noteboks with as many as 5 pdf file and one small mp4 and one large mp4 these would all amount to about 40MB per notebook. IS this possible and if so how?

But I have some problems. but, I use it generally as a voice diary. And what I miss, are the following 3 thngs: 1. The possibility to export/backup all the notebooks and note cards to an file (for example, potentially your own special *.zoho file ;] ) so I could store my notes anywhere (USB stick...). I'd prefer it more than online sync, I really need to have a possibility of a archive file backup of it! 2. I even can't export notes anywhere to my phone from your app! The "export" possibility in notes doesn't work! 3. And last flaw, I can't see how much memory the records take and with respect to this, I would appriciate the possibility to adjust the quality of the voice recording (to record smaller files). Theese flaws forestall the literal perfection of your great app! So please, my main question is: Will somday be available this things specially 1 and 3, which I need? Or should i use some Audio Recorder until new version? EVEN IF IT WOULD BE A "PRO" FUNCTION, I'D BUY IT!!!

Use your phone's record app. You can move those anywhere you want, at least if you use Android. iPhone may be a challenge.

APP for PC It is not possible to install the App on PC. I use this app one Mobile and Tablet. it works fine but I have a problem with installation on PC (Google Chrome).

Hello I see that you made this comment back in July of last year 2016 and you still haven't received a reply from Zoho. I hope this late reply will be of some use, even if it is already April 2017. I tried contacting Zoho, but didn't get a reply. What I found is that there is below your username, there is an option that says trash. You can restore all your deleted notes but only after some time before they are permanently deleted. As for the zoho cloud, it seems as though that is a paid option available for businesses. I hope this helps!

Hello. You posted this comment back in July of last year 2016. It's now April 2017 and I see that you still haven't received a reply from Zoho. I hope this answer will help, even if it is very late. I have contacted Zoho team, but they aren't very responsive. What I found is that you can retrieve deleted notes in the trash option under your username. However, the notes will be automatically deleted after a given time, so I suggest you restore any deleted notes asap. As for the Zoho cloud, it seems as though the Zoho cloud is only available for businesses that pay for it, but I am not sure. I hope this has answered your question.

You need not to add it anywhere instead you can simply login with the same account in Mac app so that all the Notebooks/notes created in your phone will be automatically synced. I like the app but once i set password to a notebook i cannot undo set password. All i can do is unlock. What if i just want to remove password forever from one out of five notebooks? How can i do that?

I love the features in this app - Evernote is so ugly, and I hate the fact that I can't nest folders. However, to replace Evernote with Zoho Notebook, I need to be able to capture articles on the internet with a button. Will this be available? Congratulations for this beautiful app. I've been looking for an Evernote alternative and this is promising. The interface is gorgeous and the features very good. I would give the definitive jump if there was a web version (or desktop) and the possibility to create folders or groups of notebooks, two essential features for me in Evernote. Anyway, it's a great start it and I will keep an eye to the new features to come.
Hi, Notebook app is only available for iPhone, iPad, iPod and Tab devices. Web version are being worked on and we are testing it internally. It will be available soon. The folder option is available for note cards. You can group your notes by pinching two notes.

Hi, There is no limitations when it comes to storage. Notebook app is completely free with all of its features. All that you need to do is download the app and use it your satisfaction. We believe that the Notebook app will be a good companion for you when it comes to day-to-day activities.
Hi I am not seeing how you can change a notebook's properties. I tried flipping the corners of the notebook like in video..not happening?
Hi, To change the Notebook properties, just swipe the Notebook from right to left, you will find the 'Info' and 'Delete' icons. On clicking the 'Info' icon, you can change the properties.
