What is a payment descriptor?

A payment descriptor is the text that appears on a customer’s card or bank statement, helping them quickly recognise transactions with your business. Zoho Payments automatically uses your business trade name as the descriptor. It is kept brief and clear while representing your business, and is limited to 5–50 alphanumeric characters without any special characters.

Note: Zoho Payments currently allows only a static payment descriptor, meaning the same descriptor will appear on all transactions.
