What is the difference between the platform fee and the convenience fee?

The platform fee is charged by Zoho Payments to you, the business/merchant for using the Zoho Payments platform and its services. This fee applies to every eligible transaction, irrespective of whether you collect a convenience fee from your customers, and is always borne by you.

The convenience fee is an optional fee that you may choose to collect from your customers to recover part or all of your payment handling costs. When enabled, it is added to the transaction amount at checkout and paid by the customer, along with applicable taxes.

The platform fee and the convenience fee are independent of each other. Collecting a convenience fee does not replace or waive the platform fee charged by Zoho Payments.
