How do I format messages in the text area?

In Zoho Cliq, you can bold, increase the font size, quote the text, and more...

The following markdowns are available to format your text in the text area. You can view these markdowns anytime by hovering on the markdown icon (M ↓) visible at the bottom right corner of your chat window.

  • Bold: To bold a section of the text, enclose with the asterisk (*).
    Example:*Hello Jacob. A very good morning!*
  • Italics: To italicize a section of the text, enclose with the underscore (_).
    Example: _Hello Jacob. A very good morning!_
  • Strike: To strike a section of the text, enclose with the tilde symbol (~).
    Example: ~Hello Jacob. A very good morning!~
  • Underline: To underline a section of the text, enclose with two underscores (__).
    Example: __Hello Jacob. A very good morning!__
  • Quote: To quote a section of the text, enclose with the backtick.
    Example: `Hello Jacob. A very good morning!`
  • Blockquote: To blockquote a section of the text, use exclamatory (!) before the word/sentence.
    Example: !Hello Jacob. A very good morning
  • Headings: Use hashtag (#) followed by space and then the header text.
    Example: # Hello Jacob. A very good morning! – for heading 1,   ### Hello Jacob. A very good morning! – for heading 3.

  Note: The maximum number of headings is 6 and a space is must between the hashtag and header text.

  • Insert Link: To insert a link into display text, enclose the display text with the square bracket and the link with parentheses.
    Example: Hello Jacob. A very good morning! Read this article [How to increase sales](enter your link here)
  • Create Box: To create a box that displays text inside, enclose the text with 3 backticks (```).
    Example: ```Hello Jacob. A very good morning!```
  • Horizontal Line: To insert a horizontal line between texts, use 3 hyphens (---). 
    Tip: You can also press your Enter key twice to insert a horizontal line.
