What's new with Creator

2023 has been a game changer for Creator. Here's a glimpse of what made this year special:

  • Custom AI Modeler

    In conventional development, constructing an AI model usually involves suitable machine learning methods, fed a reasonable amount of quality data, trained to identify patterns, and tested to ensure accurate outcomes. We streamlined this process by combining these algorithms into an easy-to-use interface that hides their complexity. As a result, low-code developers can use machine learning without having to worry about the complicated backend! Even though Zoho Creator has supported ready-to-use AI models since 2020, we've now included custom AI modelling tools that let users create, train, and share their custom models for predictions, object detection, and optical character recognition (OCR).

  • Screen recording with Zia Help Assistant

    Developers often need help troubleshooting problems while working on a platform. However, communicating the exact issues via chat, email, or phone can result in the fundamental problem being lost in translation. To solve this, we've included a feature that allows users to record screen images. These images can be accessed using Zoho's AI assistant, Zia, right on the platform. Users can use this feature to record their problems, edit the video using the built-in editor, add context with voice notes and annotations, and share it with relevant stakeholders.

  • Usage metrics

    Users can access a centralized visual dashboard to gain quick insights, track trends, and identify anomalies based on user actions across applications. For more straightforward usage statistics, it combines comprehensive data with easy-to-understand visualizations. The goal is to provide clients with insights into how their apps and users interact over time, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. Users can take necessary actions directly from the dashboard, dig deeper for more detailed data, and identify trends.

  • Email analytics

    Zoho Creator provides users with the ability to send emails using workflows for different purposes, such as welcome emails and payment receipts. We've also recently introduced advanced analytics features to enable users to analyze the performance of their emails by tracking insights, such as delivery statuses and recipient interactions. This helps users improve their communication strategies and boost customer engagement.

  • Canvas for Zoho Creator

    The Canvas builder provides our users with granular control over personalization of information, with visually appealing layouts that impact the end-user experience. Users can customize formatting settings—including colors, icons, and other design elements—with a drag-and-drop interface. You can also create multiple designs for various sequences and hide or display details based on specific criteria.

  • Portal page customizations

    To enhance the signup, login, and password reset pages for portal users, we've introduced new formatting options. Users can now customize these pages according to their company's branding, making them more engaging and appealing. This will allow them to redesign their portal pages as per their preference and improve the overall user experience.

After our successful run last year, we hosted multiple hackathons in 2023, where participants had the opportunity to transform their ideas into path-breaking software using Zoho Creator. From global to regional hackathons, like WSM ITS, Pamoja, and LadiesCanTech hackathons, in partnership with Webwork Tools, a Zoho Partner—these hackathons brought together minds from across the globe, fostering collaboration, sharing insights, and creating a vibrant community of creators united by a passion for pushing boundaries.

This year, we held a Partner Hackathon, a special initiative that brought together the talent of our renowned Partners to co-create, ideate, and transform the landscape of innovation. The challenge for the competition involved creating a comprehensive ERP system that utilizes customer portals tailored for a particular industry. Over 90 Zoho Partners from 20+ countries across the globe participated and built ground-breaking solutions.

Our training programs are designed to provide you with a personalized learning experience. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced developer, our courses can be customized to meet your specific needs and goals. We offer a range of programs, including the Learning Table Series (LTS), Tech Connect Series, and developer and business user training.

The LTS program focuses on covering business cases and apps built around them, while Tech Connect goes into the fundamental essentials and nuances of building solutions on Creator. Zoho Creator hosted 25 developer and user group meetups across regions, which brought together coding experts, tech enthusiasts, and innovators, to celebrate development and explore the possibilities of the Creator platform.

Roadshow

Attendees had the opportunity to explore Zoho Creator's features, real-world use cases, and how low-code development can transform business processes. This year, we hosted our Roadshow in ten cities worldwide.

Zoholics

Zoho's annual user conference is the perfect opportunity to get a glimpse of every Zoho product you need, including Creator. We had the chance to showcase Creator and connect with our Partners and customers from all over the world this year.

Tradeshows

Zoho Creator, a thought leader in low-code development, actively participated in various panel discussions, keynote sessions, and booth interactions at global tradeshows. Our team of experts shared valuable insights on the future of app development, the pivotal role automation plays in business, and effective strategies for staying ahead in the digital age. This year, we attended 30 tradeshows across different regions.

We hosted 10 Partner meetups this year, bringing together Zoho Creator Partners from diverse industries and regions, transcending geographical boundaries. This global convergence resulted in a melting pot of insights, experiences, and collaborative opportunities, fostering growth for the entire Zoho Creator ecosystem.

Giving back to the community

YCP is an initiative for students to upskill and solve real-life business problems and build enterprise-grade applications using low-code application development. This year was very special, since we conducted YCP in 20+ universities across 7 countries.

  • Over 4,000 students introduced to low-code
  • 400+ students and 30+ faculties trained on Zoho Creator
  • Creator included in session curriculum for "Digital Technologies for Entrepreneurs" at Babson College
  • Trainer model introduced for scalability and reach
  • Collaborated with the WinVinaya Foundation—an NGO that trains people with disabilities—on future skills and trained their staff on Zoho Creator
