Temporary Changes that will Impact your use of Instagram and Facebook on Zoho Social

Update: As at 06-April-2018, everything seems to be working normally with both Facebook and Instagram networks. We’re closely monitoring the situation and will keep you posted in case there are any further interruptions.

Keeping recent developments in mind, Facebook has decided to change the permission settings for all third party applications, so that they can help users protect their information. Unfortunately, these changes will have a temporary impact on your use of Facebook and Instagram on Zoho Social.

For New Users:

If you're a new user, you will not be able to connect your Facebook account (as well as your Facebook Lead Ads account) to Zoho Social. This means that you will not be able to use Zoho Social to post to, or monitor activity on your Facebook pages.

This will also mean that you cannot publish directly to your Instagram business profile from Zoho Social, since that would require you to connect and authenticate a Facebook page. You can, however, add a new Instagram profile to Zoho Social and continue publishing to Instagram using the workaround.

For Existing Users:

If you've already connected your Facebook account to Zoho Social, or if you've already set up Instagram Direct Publishing, these changes will not affect you.

Furthermore, Facebook has also accelerated the previously-announced deprecation of the Instagram Platform API, which might impact certain features on Zoho Social, such as the ability to like and comment on Instagram posts.

Of course, access to all other networks on Zoho Social remains unaffected.

We'll update this blog post as and when there is a development. You can also keep an eye out on our twitter profile so that you don't miss any updates.
