Dear customers,

As part of our annual network maintenance, we will be upgrading our primary data center infrastructure this month. This maintenance is scheduled to run from December 23rd 2015 to December 28th 2015.

As a Zoho customer, you can continue using all Zoho services during this period. We do not expect any service disruption as all Zoho services will be served from a secondary data center, while we carry out the upgrade on the primary.

We will post an update on this blog once the infrastructure upgrade is complete. In the meantime, if you run into any issues, please feel free to tweet us @zohocares for support or email us at

Update: The data center maintenance is now complete. A few of our customers experienced intermittent issues while we switched from our primary data center to the secondary data center and vice-versa. We apologize for the inconvenience caused. Thank you for your support.

    First off, we’d like to apologize for the issues with Zoho Support.

    Here’s why these issues occurred: We experienced an unexpected overload of emails which caused a lag during the planned maintenance activity. Because of the lag, tickets had to be retrieved in batches for a period of time for the affected portals.

    The problem is now resolved and you can expect Zoho Support to work normally.

    I experience difficulties over sending emails using multiple domains that I aligned with Zoho. Is it possible that this issue and the maintenance are related?





    Is there an easy way to backup our emails? I mean everything in our account, including contacts and settings.

    We don’t use any mail client so all messages are in the server but it just occurred to me that it would be prudent to have a local backup.

    It is very frustrating because I use Zoho Mail for activation emails for my customers.
    I hope you guys have notice that users are getting delays and are working to solve this problem.

    You indicated that you don’t expect any slowness from this… however, your service is already super slow during peak times. What are you doing to improve on this?

    We’ve used Zoho CRM for the past four years– we’d hate to have to switch to a different provider. It would take a lot of time to retrain everyone and apply the customizations we’ve made to our service. But if you don’t do something to speed up the service we may be forced to look elsewhere.

    Can you tell me please what effect this upgrade will have on services going forward? That is, when the primary data centre is operational once more, will services improve in speed, stability and security? And will it help to prevent the data-attacks we saw during 2015?

      Hi Gyanendra – You should not experience any latency during the upgrade. Authentication tokens will continue to work without needing to regenerate them.

    I hope it doesn’t slow down anymore, it’s already slow enough as it is. Hopefully this will improve performance during peak periods where the service is so slow that it’s almost unusable.
