The Logical Indian is a digital media company founded by Abhishek Mazumdar and Anurag Mazumdar in 2014. It was founded with the important purpose of bringing worthwhile news to millennials. 

"Not everything shared as news is actually news. We looked at the sorry state of Indian media and realized there are so many crucial things that don't see the light of day. We decided to give them the attention they deserve," said Abhishek Mazumdar, CEO of The Logical Indian. TLI is a bootstrapped company that publishes hand-picked stories—in the form of articles, videos, and photographs—with rational perspectives and unbiased view points. They publish through their website and major social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. With over 6.5 million subscribers, they clock over 9.5 million pageviews and 50 million video views every month. 

The pain of using spreadsheets for HR

"PAIN—that is how I would describe our life in HR before we found Zoho People", recalled Abhishek. As a startup, it was quite difficult for them to learn and execute so many tasks inside the company—especially in Human Resources.

"As an entrepreneur, there are so many things to take care of when you're building your team. You also have to take care of the company and keep the services running. We soon realized our HR requirements were beyond the capabilities of spreadsheets," he added. 

Abhishek and team started looking for a proper HRMS that could organize all their HR activities. "Your CEO Sridhar Vembu is a person I look up to, and that is how I knew about Zoho. We tried Zoho People and found it perfectly suited to us" said Abhishek.

HR functions organized

All the employees at TLI now use Zoho People for time and attendance management. They also have custom forms for all other requirements in the company, such as sending offer letters and exit management.
