Innocode started as a Ukrainian-Norwegian tech company back in 2010. Since then, they have grown into a 50+ person operation with three offices in Lviv, Kyiv and Oslo, These days, Innocode specializes in building products for Norwegian and US media companies, while also continuing to help startups in Norway, helping them launch and grow.
Interestingly, in 2015 Innocode decided to differentiate their business model, and started to build their own products aimed at monetizing media content and making it relevant for different audiences, a journey that gave them lots of valuable insights and proved to be successful in Norway, where they work with more than 100 newspapers. Innocode's process is frictionless for users: simply buy a license and integrate their widgets in your media. Innocode's dedicated R&D teams continue to work with the Norwegian startup market, which remains a huge part of their skill set.
Since 2016, thanks to establishing Kyiv office with the genuine competence in WordPress, they have been able to start working with large brands like DNB bank, United.no, NSB Railways, among others.
Need Recognition for a Growing Enterprise
"Before Zoho People, we managed peoples' information in Google Docs and Google Spreadsheets," said Iryna Nahorna, COO at Innocode. "With a relatively small number of people, it was fine and not so time-consuming, but once we started to grow, the need to optimize this process and have everything in one place became the priority," she added. Having found the formula for success, Innocode found that they needed to optimize their HR functions to continue to grow their enterprise. They were seeking a product that could cater to all their requirements while not burning a hole in the pocket.
Zoho People : A Well-balanced Product
Iryna says that they liked the balance between functionality and price of Zoho People. Plus, flexible approach to adding more people. "Oh, another important thing to mention: the customer support has been amazing so far!" Iryna exclaimed.
Iryna explained the process of leave application they used to have. Innocode had a special channel in Slack where employees needed to relay details about their approved leave. Then HR would add it to their card in Google Sheets manually. And if an employee didn’t remember how many days of vacation they had left, they had to ask HR. As the last step, employees could add their absences into Google Calendar." Lots of steps, right? With Zoho, we totally switched to self-service: you just log in, apply the type of leave you need, and your manager gets the e-mail to approve it," said Iryna, "No HR involved! And you can see all the days left in the system, plus your absence is automatically visible in Zoho Calendar."
Talking about the features which Innocode loves, Iryna notes, "We use the whole Organization feature plus Travel Expenses, Leave Tracker, Birthdays and checking folks’ Anniversary days at Innocode to be ready for proper celebration:," she says with a smile "We also, plan to use Performance Management System for gathering feedback."
