For nearly 40 years, Ateis has been a leader in manufacturing Public Address and Voice Alarm (PAVA) systems, a vital component of life-saving evacuation networks. Sensing new opportunities in Middle Eastern and Asian economies, Ateis launched Ateis Middle East in 2006, and entered the fast-growing Fire Alarm Systems market in 2012. Offering an expansive range of products--from professional sound systems to voice alarms--Ateis scaled up its operations and now exports to Europe, Africa , Egypt, India, and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
An HR function that had to keep up with the growing organizational needs
With a global footprint and offices across the region, Ateis's employees are separated by time zones, geography, and roles. Before, Ateis took a piecemeal approach to HR, but as the company grew, Ateis realized that they needed a robust system that could handle attendance, employee records, leave requests, and more for all worldwide operations.
“We had biometric attendance which didn’t really work for us. We wanted a system that used a mobile app,” said Hussam Al Haddad, Managing Director at Ateis.
HR processes were handled by multiple individuals. Ateis wanted to avoid confusion, and detect errors by uniting processes in a single system.
“I personally felt a need for a system that was decentralized. I searched and did a lot of research, read the reviews saw that Zoho People is perfect for my wishes,” notes Hussam.

Attendance and leave management, as well as time tracking at Ateis have become effortless after the implementation of Zoho People. Employee documents and policy are also stored digitally now.
“Our employees are very confident and happy to use the self-service portal, since it gives a lot of transparency between the HR and the employee,” he noted.
Thanks to Zoho People's efficiency, Ateis was able to avoid expanding the size of their HR team, which in turn has saved the company money it can invest in other crucial areas.
Hussam said, “Everything became digital, on the cloud! After a few months we felt that we were in a safe zone, which I believe was a very good move for the organization.”
