How do I create recurring Invoices for a Fixed cost project?

When a project is created in Zoho Projects and synced to Zoho Books with the Fixed Cost billing method, the option to create Recurring Invoices for those project timesheets will not be available. This is because fixed cost projects have a predetermined, fixed fee that is not based on variable factors such as staff hours or task hours.

As a workaround you can associate the project at the time of creation of the recurring profile. To do so:

  • Go to Sales and click Recurring Invoices.
  • Click the + New button in the top right corner of the page.
  • Choose the customer and associate other details.
  • Click the Bulk Actions option located on the line item table.
  • Click Show Additional Information.
  • You will be able to associate the Project from there.

If you have choose the billing method Based on staff hours or Based on task hours for a project and it has been synced with Zoho Books, you can create a recurring invoice for that project. The timesheets recorded for the project will be automatically added in the next child invoice.
