Docs to WorkDrive migration - For Individuals
Follow the steps below to migrate your personal account data from Zoho Docs to WorkDrive.
For new WorkDrive users
- Sign in to your Zoho Docs account.
- Click the Switch now button in the banner shown at the top. A new page will open showing the migration details.
- Mark the checkbox to read the migration terms and conditions.
- Click Accept to proceed.
- Click Migrate to Zoho WorkDrive.
A new free individual plan account will be created in WorkDrive and your data will be migrated to that account.
For existing WorkDrive users
- Sign in to your Zoho Docs account.
- Click the Switch now button in the banner shown at the top. A new page will open showing the migration details.
- Mark the checkbox to read the migration terms and conditions.
- Click Accept to proceed.
- Click Migrate to Zoho WorkDrive.
Your personal Docs account data will be migrated to the existing individual plan account in WorkDrive.
Note:
- You will not be able to pause or cancel the migration once you click the 'Migrate to Zoho WorkDrive' button.
- You will receive an email once the data is migrated, and then you can access WorkDrive from using www.workdrive.zoho.com.
- During or after migration, you cannot access your Zoho Docs account.
Other Cases
1. User is part of a team
If you are already part of a team in WorkDrive with the same email address, you can choose an option below to migrate from Docs to WorkDrive.
Migrate to the existing WorkDrive team account
All your data from Docs will be migrated to the existing team account in WorkDrive.
Create a new WorkDrive individual account
If you don't want to migrate to an existing team account, you can create a free individual account and migrate.
2. User is part of multiple teams
You can either choose to migrate to an existing team account or create a new individual account and migrate to WorkDrive.
3. User has an individual account and is also part of a team
If you have an individual account in WorkDrive, and you're also part of a team in WorkDrive with the same email address, you can select a WorkDrive account to migrate your Docs data.
4. User has an individual account and is also part of multiple teams
If you have an individual account in WorkDrive, and you're also part of multiple teams in WorkDrive with the same email address, you can select a WorkDrive account to migrate your Docs data.
Migration terms and conditions
What's migrated?
- All your files and folders will be migrated to WorkDrive. Files in Trash will also be migrated.
- If you have shared any files and folders individually with other Docs users, all those share permissions will be retained in WorkDrive
- Files previously shared by others with you in Docs will be only available in WorkDrive when the respective owner moves to WorkDrive. Until then, you will be able to access the files via links received in email or other apps.
- "Public on the web" links created in Docs will be updated in WorkDrive after migration. When users access these public links of Docs, they will be redirected to the corresponding WorkDrive links.
- Folder structures and version history of files will be maintained.
- Writer, Sheet, and Show files will also be migrated to WorkDrive. After migration, any new files you create using these Editor services will be stored within WorkDrive.
- All your Tags will be added as Labels in WorkDrive.
- Files that have been moved to WorkDrive will be removed from your Zoho Docs desktop and mobile apps. You can uninstall the Docs apps and install the corresponding WorkDrive apps for desktop and mobile to access your migrated files.
- Attachments of Zoho Forms and Notebook will be migrated from Docs to WorkDrive.
What's not migrated?
- Attachments added in file comments will not be retained.
- User access stats from Docs will not be migrated. However, once the files are migrated, WorkDrive will start collecting the user access stats.
