Zoho CRM: Automatic Follow-Up E-mails and Web Tabs

Sorry! We just can't help ourselves adding more and more good stuff to Zoho CRM. Today we have two great brand-new features that we're sure many of our users will like: Automatic Follow-Up Emails and Web Tabs.

Automatic Follow-Up E-mails / Autoresponders

Some customers come to your business and make a decision to buy right away. But a lot of sales also happen slowly over time. You have to nurture and slowly build those relationships by keeping those leads warms. Timely follow-up with prospects is essential to win deals! The Autoresponders feature in Zoho CRM is one of the marketing automation functions that can streamline the process of sending a series of personalized emails at predefined intervals to your leads and contacts. You can of course exclude those leads/contacts that reply to one of your e-mails from the next batch of follow-up messages.

For example, you can use autoresponders for to:

  • Follow up with prospects periodically at pre-defined time intervals
  • Promote products and services to the existing customers (up-selling/cross-selling opportunities)
  • Send introduction/welcome emails to the customers
  • Automate reminder emails to receive payments from customers

This is available in Zoho CRM now for all of our Enterprise editions customers . Learn more about our autoresponders feature.

Web Tabs

Web Tabs help you to access other web pages and applications (such as company-wide announcements, intranet pages, etc) right inside Zoho CRM. Once an administrator activates them in the user profile settings, web tabs can be viewed by Zoho CRM users across the organization. One of the uses of web tabs is to surface Zoho Creator applications right inside your CRM account. And because both Zoho CRM and Zoho Creator support Single Sign-On, you are automatically logged on into the application. Web Tabs are available now in our Enterprise edition.

For example, we created a simple travel expenses demo application in Zoho Creator that helps sales people log travel expenses and associated them with a particular contact/prospect/account. This Zoho Creator application is pulling the list of accounts directly from Zoho CRM. Then, the entry view for that form is displayed in Zoho CRM as a web tab. Here's what it looks like:

In (1) You can see that this form has been added as a tab among all other CRM tabs. (2) Shows the view that the user gets upon clicking that tab. In this case, the user is getting a list of his own records. Finally (3) shows the sample sample form that the user fills out for the travel record. The "Contact Name" field drop-down is being populated from Zoho CRM. This shows of course only a simple demo form. Zoho Creator apps can be as complex or a simple as you want. Lean how to activateWeb Tabs in your Zoho CRM instance.

  1. Hi,You write "Automate reminder emails to receive payments from customers" but I can't find out how to do and even Zoho CRM support team told me I had to create an autoresponder based on Contacts or Leads, not on Invoices. How do you do that? I would like my clients to receive a autoreminder every 2 weeks until we get payment. I created an Invoices custom view with custom fields showing me the list of clients who haven't entirely paid one or more invoices. But how do I link this to an autoresponder?Thank you for your time!

  3. Olá WelcoTech -Well - with Web Tabs you can pull into Zoho CRM almost any application that you can access through the web. This includes Zoho CRM apps.
Zoho CRM has had an API for quite a long time. We are using that API in Zoho Creator to pull the list of customers. Here's the simple code that we are using here: http://www.twitpic.com/1hui3q/full" rel="nofollow">http://www.twitpic.com/1hui3q/...Zoho CRM and Creator are not integrated right now other than the single sign-on.Does that help clarify? If not, please drop me a line - vaca /a/ zohocorpRodrigo

  5. Hi Rodrigo,I´m quite confused. Recently I posted a comment in Forum related to Web Tabs (http://forums.zoho.com/topic/z... and Solomon from Zoho CRM team informed that is not integration between Zoho CRM and Zoho Creator and according to your post above the integration exists as we can get in a creator form contact names from Zoho CRM. I would like to ask you to provide more details about how this can be done.
