Mail Agent overview
The overview section in a Mail Agent provides a consolidated view of your email activity. It presents key information in the form of two graphs:
- Transaction Overview – Displays the status of outgoing emails over a selected time range.
- Bounce Category – Shows the reasons for email bounces, categorized as hard or soft bounces.
Transaction overview
The transaction overview graph illustrates the statuses of the outgoing emails over a chosen time range.
It is plotted for the following values:
- Sent - Total number of email recipients. If your email has 1 recipient in 'to' field, 1 recipient in 'cc' field, and 1 recipient in 'bcc' field; then the total count of emails sent is 3.
- Delivered - Number of emails successfully delivered to recipients.
- Hard Bounces - Number of emails that failed to deliver due to permanent reasons like invalid recipient address.
- Soft Bounces - Number of emails that failed to deliver due to temporary reasons like recipient server being down or recipient's inbox being full.
- Click - Number of times links in an email were clicked.
- Open - Number of times recipients opened the emails.
- Process failed - Emails that weren't sent due to processing errors.
You can view this information over the desired time range using the drop-down filter at the top.
Chart options
There are two other chart options that you'll find on the top-right corner. They are:
- Download - Option to download the chart in the desired format. The supported formats are — JPEG, PNG, SVG, CSV, PDF.
- Chart type - Choose between the available chart styles for better visualization.
Bounce category
Email bounces are instances when an email is returned to the sender without being delivered to the recipient. There are multiple reasons for a bounce, but they are broadly classified into — hard and soft bounce. The Bounce category chart in ZeptoMail provides insights into the reasons for undelivered emails. The reasons for each bounce are listed on the right side of the chart. You can also adjust the time range using the drop-down menu.
For an in-depth view of bounce activity, click the Open detailed report button. This takes you to the Bounce reports section where you can view:
- The exact date and time of each bounce event.
- The reason for the bounce.
- The email count.
The bounce report chart can also be downloaded in the following formats: JPEG, PNG, SVG, CSV, PDF.
