The company

Volta Solar works to accelerate the global transition to solar energy by integrating solar systems onto rooftops in a simple, aesthetic, and cost-effective way. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Petah Tikva, Israel, it has expanded nationwide, establishing additional workspaces to design, install, maintain, and operate solar systems for residential, commercial, and public buildings. With hundreds of successful installations, Volta Solar has enabled households and businesses to adopt clean energy, reducing carbon emissions, lowering operational costs, and supporting long-term sustainability.

"Most of the world's energy still comes from oil, coal, and gas, contributing to pollution and global warming. Volta Solar is working to change that by driving the transition to clean, efficient solar energy."

The challenge

In its early stages, Volta Solar used Google Sheets to manage most of the work. However, during COVID-19, Volta Solar experienced a sharp increase in project volume. Following this expansion, the company decided to move on to a more robust, stable, and structured system for efficiently managing projects and daily workflows. A significant requirement was interoperability—Volta Solar developed and used custom internal interfaces in its daily operations, and the company required a solution that would work with these systems.

The solution

Zoho Projects

To promote growth and answer operational needs, Volta Solar chose to implement Zoho Projects as its central project management system. A major factor in this decision was the system’s API capabilities, which enabled Volta Solar to effortlessly connect its in-house tools and ensure a smooth and cohesive workflow. Key operational functions like field team management, sales tracking, reporting, and customer feedback surveys could be managed and tracked through Zoho Projects.

Zoho Analytics

As Volta Solar grew, the company needed deeper insights beyond the standard reporting in Zoho Projects. It integrated Zoho Analytics into its technology stack. With advanced reporting and data visualization, Zoho Analytics provided valuable insights into performance across all departments, helping teams track key performance indicators (KPIs), identify bottlenecks, and allocate resources more effectively. These insights allowed Volta Solar to fine-tune its workflows and make better, informed, data-driven decisions.

"Zoho provided us with a stable and efficient solution for our management and reporting needs. For us, it represents a significant step forward in improving workflows and supporting our growth."

Benefits and ROI

Using Zoho solutions, Volta Solar was able to create a suitable work environment for their specific requirements. Zoho Projects centralized and unified core business functions. Zoho Analytics allowed the teams to track KPIs, identify bottlenecks, and allocate resources more effectively. By refining workflows and improving overall efficiency, Volta Solar saw a 33% reduction in installation time and a technical infrastructure that maintained growth and smoothed operations.

Looking forward

As Volta Solar expands beyond Israel, the company will continue using its current Zoho tools to manage projects and analyze performance. With Zoho Projects and Zoho Analytics, the team has an effective system in place, allowing them to maintain structured workflows and support growth in new markets without adding additional software.

"From our experience, we highly recommend Zoho to any business looking for a dependable and efficient solution. Their online support is always available when we need it, with fast response times and reliable service that truly make a difference."
