Mail Merge with Zoho CRM

We love it when our users passionately request new features for our products. One particular example of that is Zoho CRM – our customers have been asking (private and publicly) for an easy way to do mail-merge in Microsoft Word with their Zoho CRM contacts (and, for some reason, most people seem to want the Avery 5160 layout. Avery folks, that’s one piece of free customer research for you.)

The Zoho CRM got to work and today we’re happy to release the Zoho CRM Plug-In for Microsoft Office. This easy-to-use plugin allows users to perform any mail merge (not only for Avery 5160 of course) with the data that they have stored in Zoho. After an easy one-time setup, using the plug-in is quite easy, just need to select in Microsoft Word the merge fields that you want to use, and then we take care of the rest.

Here’s a Zoho Show presentation that explains how to use the plug-in:

And, if you really can’t wait to use those Avery 5160 labels you just bought, here’s how:

The plug-in is just $3 per mo/user. To download and start using it, you just need to log-in to your Zoho CRM account and go to: Setup > Personal Settings > Office Plug-in. More details about this new plug-in are available at the Zoho CRM wiki: http://zohocrm.wiki.zoho.com/Zoho-CRM-Office-Plugin.html

  1. I am becoming increasingly baffled with this situation. You guys have all the features of the email merge process on your platform... campaign creation, lead lists / DBs, email templates with merge fields using DB column headers as variables... except the last & arguably most important one, "MERGE & SEND" to execute the merge & SMPT the resulting per-record messages out to the recipients. Am I missing something? Or is this really the cul de sac to futility it is beginning to look like?

  2. Also, I know others
mentioned this, but it's kind of ridiculous that we must pay for something
we're already paying for. Zoho CRM should have this feature right off the bat,
not laud it as a super feature when it comes standard with other CRMs and free
    with common programs like word...

  3. Page 4 of the plugin presentation is broken as is page 8 of the label presentation. some code is splattered all over it. please fix it, as it's very annoying and has been broken since last week at least. I want to be sure I can see all steps so i can correctly carry out the instructions. Thank you.

  4. How about merging with ZoHo Docs. It seems like ZoHo is just a bunch of individual apps, nothing really integrated.

  6. RCP, Justin - thanks for the feedback. We don't have specific plans for that in our roadmap right now, but will keep the need in mind.
