The company

Founded in 2024 by Samantha Carter, Clarity Metrics Group began as a consulting firm and has grown into a decision science company that focuses on helping people make better decisions. She built the company around a core methodology called "decision design", which brings together behavioral psychology, economics, cognitive science, and data.

Through this methodology, the firm guides organizations across the full lifecycle of a decision, from identifying what the decision truly is to executing it and measuring how well it works.

The challenges

As Clarity Metrics Group continued working with organizations, one thing became clear. The decision design methodology existed within consulting engagements and not in a system that organizations could use on their own.

"We couldn’t leave decision design as a service. It had to become something organizations could actually use day to day."

— Samantha Carter,Founder & CEO, Clarity Metrics Group

Samantha realized the methodology needed to be turned into a platform for the company to scale. But the question was where to build it.

The solution

Samantha explored several tools, including Lovable and AWS, to bring the SaaS platform to life. But most fell short. They were either too expensive or too complex, and costs rose further when AI integrations and connectors became part of the requirement.

That changed when she turned to Zoho Creator, which was already part of her Zoho One subscription. She began building and testing, and the more time she spent with it, the more confident she became that it could support everything she needed without the additional cost and complexity.

"So once I started playing around with Zoho Creator, it was like, 'oh, we don’t have to go to AWS, we don’t have to go anywhere.'"

— Samantha Carter,Founder & CEO, Clarity Metrics Group

With Zoho Creator, she built the Clarity Decision Room, a full SaaS platform, on her own while working a full-time job as a data professional. It went live in six months and in just three more, 150 seats were filled and it was already gaining traction from multiple global enterprise prospects.

The platform is built around three phases of decision design, and users access the CDR through a dedicated portal, with onboarding automated through an integration with Zoho Forms and Zoho Flow.

1 . Decision submission (The starting point)

The Clarity Decision Room begins with defining the decision itself. This module helps users capture and structure decisions before any action is taken, focusing on identifying what the decision truly is. Samantha calls this the “Phoenix decision,” which ensures the right context reaches the right people at the right time, giving teams a strong foundation for what follows.

2 . Decision aftercare (Execution phase)

Once a decision is made, execution takes over. Instead of managing execution around generic workflows, this approach keeps the decision at the center. It reduces scope creep and creates an environment where all the information needed to execute is available on time. This way, teams are supported with the right information and visibility into progress, helping them move faster.

3 . Decision health (Measuring impact)

Once a decision is implemented, the module focuses on understanding its performance. What sets this apart is that outcomes are always tied back to the "Phoenix decision." This makes it easier for teams to understand what worked, what didn’t, and how those results impact the business.

While these phases form the core of the platform, there are a few other modules that support and extend its functionality.

Help section

This module was built from system-generated error logs. As users interact with the platform, logs are continuously captured and used to surface recurring issues. When issues arise, the CMG team is notified so they can address them early.

Users can also submit feature requests and track how they're evaluated over time. All of this was implemented by embedding HTML snippets to create custom UI elements, making the help section a dynamic, user-driven layer of the platform.

Reporting

The Reporting module acts as a hub for tracking, auditing, and measuring decision outcomes, giving teams visibility over their progress over time. Through the native OpenAI integration in Zoho Creator, information captured is returned as structured summaries.

Unlike traditional reports, information is displayed through interactive dashboards and top-five summaries, leveraging the same HTML and functional components to deliver insights at a glance.

"Using HTML snippets took the platform to a whole new level."

Support tickets

This module allows users to raise requests directly within the platform. The Clarity Metrics Group team then steps in to assist, ensuring users have the support they need as they work through decisions.

Benefits and ROI

Three months after the Clarity Decision Room platform went live, users had experienced tangible improvements in how decisions are made and executed:

  • Faster decision-making: Decisions now move through the platform directly, cutting down on meetings and accelerating team progress.
  • Better capacity planning: Teams gain full visibility into workloads and bandwidth, allowing more effective resource allocation.
  • Streamlined execution: With decisions at the center, teams track progress in real time, reduce errors, and prevent scope creep.

"Zoho Creator fits our needs and it fits our budget. We're not going anywhere for the foreseeable future."

— Samantha Carter,Founder & CEO, Clarity Metrics Group

Looking ahead

With the platform live and early customers engaged, Clarity Metrics Group's near-term focus is on refinement. A summer cohort is underway, with five organizations using the CDR in a structured program and sharing detailed feedback on their experience. Those learnings will feed directly into Clarity Academy's research output and inform the next phase of platform development.

For Samantha, the journey from consulting firm to SaaS company is a testament to what's possible when the right tools meet the right vision: built solo, shipped in six months, and already delivering value to real customers.

And the Clarity Decision Room is only getting started. With Zoho Creator as its foundation, the platform is well-positioned to scale, evolve, and continue bringing the science of better decisions to organizations that need it most.

"As long as you're willing to put in the time to understand the app and learn it, you can do some amazing things with Zoho Creator."
