About PMI Bangalore
The Project Management Institue (PMI), Bangalore Chapter, is an autonomous, non-profit membership association that provides education and certifications in Project Management, provides networking opportunities with peers from other industries, and promotes the mission and objectives of PMI. PMI Bangalore Chapter, one among the 8 in India, is also a finalist in the "2017 PMI Chapter of the Year Award". Events, whether annually, quarterly, or weekly, are a big part of their outreach to the project management community.
In a sea of options, finding the right fit for one's needs always poses a challenge. After an exhausting selection process, it can be a big letdown if your event management solution doesn't work as expected.
"We were using another tool for managing our events, but they couldn't accommodate our requirements. However, with the Backstage team, our experience was totally different."
For PMI Bangalore—a volunteer-driven organization—it's essential that time spent is efficient and team goals are accomplished on schedule.
Managing events the smart way
Mr. Ramesh Pathak discovered that Backstage was the ideal partner for all their event organizing needs. Describing Backstage as a single platform for managing events, Mr. Pathak said, "We're a volunteer-based organization, and time is quite essential for us. With Backstage, we were able to efficiently spend time putting up the event together." Elaborating on Backstage's features, Mr. Pathak said that it was flexible enough to account for any changes.
"We usually make changes to our agenda every minute, and it was effortless to plan, document, and make updates using Backstage, with just a few clicks."
Backstage's attendee mobile app also came in for special praise from Mr. Pathak.
"We usually provide our attendees with a pocket guide on the day of the event. With the Backstage App, we were able to provide a digital pocket guide right on their phones. All the event information was available at our attendees' fingertips."
Touching upon the tangible benefits of Backstage, Mr. Pathak said that they were able to save a "few lakhs of rupees" after they switched from their previous tool.
"We were able to have a website of our own. This helped us provide all event-related information in a single place. Another great benefit was how all of this information was available on attendees' phones, as well. We're looking forward to making use of Backstage for our future events."
