Steps to install Zoho Office for SharePoint

  • For SharePoint 2010, unzip ZohoOfficeForSharePoint2010.zip in your SharePoint 2010 server.

    For SharePoint 2007, unzip ZohoOfficeForSharePoint2007.zip in your SharePoint 2007 server.

    This server should be part of the SharePoint farm.
  • Execute Setup.exe.
  • Welcome Screen
    • Click "Next" to continue.
  • System Check
    This screen checks for the necessary permissions to install Zoho Office For SharePoint. After all the checks pass, click 'Next' to continue.
    • For SharePoint 2010, ensure that you have the 'Windows SharePoint Services Administration V4' and 'Windows SharePoint Services Timer V3' services running on the SharePoint server.

    • For SharePoint 2007, ensure that you have the 'Windows SharePoint Services Administration' and 'Windows SharePoint Services Timer' services running on the SharePoint server.
  • End User License Agreement
    • Read the End User License Agreement. To accept, click on the check box and click 'Next' to continue.
  • Deployment Targets
    • This screen lists all the site collections present in the SharePoint server. Choose the site collections where you want to install the Zoho Office feature. Typically this would be the site collections that contain document libraries where Zoho Office related menu items needs to be added for creating and editing documents. Click 'Next' to continue.
  • Service Log on
    • This is an optional screen to enter the log on user details for 'ZohoOfficeService' windows service. ZohoOfficeService takes care of saving the document back to SharePoint document library and needs access to the MSSQL server to read the ZohoOffice settings. By default 'LocalSystem' user will be used as the log on account. In case the MSSQL database server is installed in another system or has restricted access, please provide the user name and password of the user that has access to the database.

      User name should be in the format <DomainName>\<User Name>

    • Note : Please ensure that you provide the correct user credential. This would enable ZohoOfficeService to start correctly while configuring Zoho Office settings.
  • Installation Progress
    • The Zoho Office solution gets deployed to the selected deployment targets. The progress bar shows the status of deployment. On completion you should see 'All operations completed successfully' message displayed under the progress bar. Click 'Next' to continue.

  • Installation Summary
    • This screen summarizes the affected deployment targets and other installation activities. Click 'Next' to continue.
  • Quick Links
    • The last screen shows a link for configuring Zoho Office settings and another link pointing to this page. Click on the first link to configure Zoho Office settings

    For SharePoint 2010,
    • This page is also accessible from SharePoint Central Administration -> General Application Settings -> Zoho Office
    For SharePoint 2007,
    • This page is also accessible from SharePoint Central Administration -> Operations -> Global Configuration ->Zoho Office Settings
    • Zoho Office requires a Zoho user account to work. You need to just create one Zoho account per installation of Zoho Office. In case you do not have a Zoho account, create a new Zoho account
    • Select SSL check-box if you want the documents to be transported over a secured line.
    • Enter your Zoho account user name and password.
    • If your SharePoint servers are behind corporate proxy, enter the proxy server host, port , user-name and password.
    • Click 'Update'. You should see the message 'Settings saved successfully'.
  • You are now ready to start using Zoho Office For SharePoint.

  • Unzip ZohoOfficeForSharePoint2003.zip in your SharePoint 2003 server.
  • Execute Setup.exe.

    • Click Next to continue

  • Zoho Office Web Part Installation
    • Enter the root site collection URL in the text-box and click 'Install Web Part' button.
    • On successful installation you should see the messages as shown below. Click 'Next' to continue.
  • Creating Zoho Office web part page
    • This screen shows the manual steps required to create the Zoho Office web part page.
    • Follow the steps shown and copy the Zoho Office web part page URL. Click 'Next' to continue.
  • Zoho Office configuration
    • Enter the URL copied from the previous step in the text-box and click the 'Configure' button.
    • On successful configuration you should see the messages as show below.
    • Restart the IIS server to complete the installation
