Steps to Configure Zoho Mail in Apple Mac Mail Client

For best results, ensure that you have a good internet connection when you configure the account.

  1. Enable IMAP in the Zoho Mail interface. (Login to mail.zoho.com >> Settings >> POP/ IMAP and Email Forwarding >> Enable IMAP Access)
  2. Launch the Mail application in Mac machine.
  3. Click the + icon in the bottom right, to add a new account.
  4. Specify the Display Name, Your Zoho account Email address and password.  
  5. In the Account Type, select ‘IMAP’.  
    • Incoming Mail Server: imap.zoho.com
    • User Name: Zoho Email Address (Email hosting users can use you@yourdomain.com)
    • Password: Zoho Password (You may require Application Specific password, if Two Factor Authentication is enabled for your account.) 
      Click Continue
  6. By default Apple tries to auto configure the account without SSL and gives and error message. Ignore the error message and click Continue
  7. In the next screen, select Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and click Continue.
  8. Specify the outgoing server as 'smtp.zoho.com'
  9. Select Outgoing server requires Authentication, ignore the error and click Continue. 
  10. In the next screen select 'Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)' and click Continue. 
  11. Check the account summary that gets displayed finaly. If the server details and SSL details are correct, the account gets configured correctly. You can select 'Take account online' to start syncing the account with Zoho Mail immediately.
