# How do I sell items at rates inclusive and/or exclusive of tax?

To sell items at rates inclusive and/or exclusive of tax:

*   Go to _Settings > General Preferences._
*   Under _Do you sell your items at rates inclusive of Tax?_ select an option indicating whether you want to sell items at tax inclusive rates, tax exclusive rates, or both.
*   Click **Save.**

When you create an invoice, if you’ve selected:

**1\. Tax Inclusive:** The tax amount will be included in item’s rate and no additional amount will be added to the items’ amount as tax.

**2\. Tax Exclusive:** The tax amount will not be included in the item’s rate but will be added to the Sub Total as an additional amount.

**3\. Tax Inclusive or Tax Exclusive:** You will have both the options enabled, and you can select the one you desire while creating an invoice.
