# How do I manually close a sales order?

It is not possible to close a sales order manually. The sales order will be closed automatically if you [convert](/books/help/sales-order/convert-to-invoice.html) or [link](/za/books/kb/sales-order/associate-invoices-with-sales-order.html) it to an invoice.

**Note:** If you have enabled the [Inventory Add-on in Zoho Books](/books/help/items/advanced-inventory.html), the sales order will be closed based on the preferences you have chosen in **General Preferences**.
