The amount in Zoho Books and my bank account does not match. What should I do?

There could be a few possible reasons for a mismatch of your Amount in Zoho Books and Amount in Bank.

  1. It could either be due to certain uncategorised transactions that are recorded in Zoho Books but not reconciled to an actual transaction in your Bank account. To rectify this, you must Categorise and Match all Uncategorised transactions in your Zoho Books, to a corresponding Bank Statement.

To know more about Categorising and Matching a bank transaction, refer this document.

  1. While Categorising such transactions, If still you’re unable to match, check if you have got any Manually added transaction, that could be a possible duplicate created by you accidentally.

Check if there are any duplicate feeds pulled in, and you have categorized the same.

  1. If you have added a bank account in Zoho Books, you will only be able to fetch the feeds for the past 90 days.

Once all the feeds have been fetched, there may be a case wherein the Amount in Zoho Books fails to match the actual amount available in your bank account. This would be because the balance amount might be attributed to the transactions carried out beyond the 90-day period.

You can record the balance amount within the Banking module. Click on Add Transaction -> Other Deposit. Enter the amount and choose the From Account as Opening Balance Offset.

Now, the amount in Zoho Books will be the same as your bank account.
