Insert symbols

There are many symbols used in the science, which you cannot input from the keyboard. That is why we have a symbol-set ready for you.

To insert symbols,

  1. Click More > Insert tab.
  2. Under Pictures & Tables, click Symbol. The Symbols tab with all the available symbols will open
  3. Choose the required symbol. Writer provides with a wide range of symbol sets. Insert punctuations, alphanumeric symbols, emojis, math symbols, and so on. Also, use the search option to find the required symbol.
  4. Click Insert. The symbol will be inserted in your document.

Insert equation

Equations will be helpful if you're working on an academic paper. You can use Writer's Latex editor to insert and edit complex mathematical expressions in your document. We have also included sample syntax to help you write and edit equations in your document in an easier way.

To insert equation,

  1. Click More > Insert tab.
  2. Under Pictures & Tables header, click Equation. The Latex editor window will appear.
  3. In the Latex editor, scroll through the Symbols/Functions list and select the symbol your need. The corresponding syntax will be displayed in the Latex Syntax box.
  4. You can check the symbols in the preview space and click Insert to add it to your document.
