# On what basis does a sales channel item get mapped with an item in Zoho Inventory?

The items from Zoho Inventory and the marketplace are mapped based on two cases:

*   If a product with the **same SKU** or **same name** exists in Zoho Inventory, then the marketplace item will be mapped automatically to the one in Zoho Inventory.
*   If a product with the same SKU or same name **does not exist** in Zoho Inventory, then the marketplace item will be created as an unconfirmed item.
