# How can I restrict other users of my organization from editing the item price in transactions?

*   Navigate to **Settings -> Preferences**.
*   Under **Items**, scroll down to **Additional Information** section.
*   **Selling Price and Purchase Price -** Being mandatory fields, you cannot disable these.
*   Click the gear icon next to the fields.
*   Choose from **Read & Write**, **Read Only** or **Hide** option for each user role.
*   Click **Save**.

**Note:** Only the Admin role user can provide or restrict access to the selling and purchase prices. This implicitly means that the users with Read Only access cannot edit the price and users in the Hide category cannot view these fields.
