Best Practices for Accurate Ride Detection

In this help document, you’ll learn some of the best practices you should follow to ensure that your rides are tracked accurately.

  1. Open the Zoho Expense app regularly

Opening the app regularly, at least once every three days, helps in properly syncing your rides with Zoho Expense. Some rides might not get synced into Zoho Expense due to varying reasons. Opening the app regularly will ensure that all your rides are synced properly.

  1. Turn on Mobile Data

Turning on Mobile Data on your device will allow Zoho Expense to track your rides.

Note: If you’ve set a limit for the mobile data on your device, ensure that you don’t cross this limit or disable the limit.

  1. Don’t disable the Automatic Mileage Tracking feature

The Automatic Mileage Tracking feature has to be enabled on your Zoho Expense Android app to track your rides. If you do disable the feature, ensure that you enable it before starting a ride.

  1. Add Zoho Expense to the whitelist or ignore list of third-party apps

Third-party app management, memory boosting, data compression, task-killing, battery saving, and anti-virus apps may interfere with Zoho Expense’s ability to track your rides as they may limit background data, app activity, and battery usage. If you’ve installed such apps on your device, ensure that you add Zoho Expense to the whitelist or ignore list of these apps.

  1. Use the latest version of Zoho Expense

Using the latest version of Zoho Expense ensures that the performance of the app does not affect ride tracking.

  1. Use the latest version of your device’s OS

Using the latest version of Android supported by your device will provide the latest features to support and protect background apps like Zoho Expense.
