# How do I prevent changes from being made to my organization in Zoho Books?

If the end of the financial year is approaching and you would like to prevent changes from being made to your organization to file taxes, then you can lock your transactions in Zoho Books.

To enable transaction locking:

*   Go to _Accountant_ on the left sidebar and select **Transaction Locking.**
*   Click the **Lock** icon next to the preferred module.
*   Select the _Lock date_. The transactions recorded prior to this date cannot be recorded or modified.
*   Enter the reason for locking the transaction.
*   Click **Lock** to proceed.

Now, you cannot add, modify or delete transactions recorded prior to the mentioned date.
