# How do I display the Reference number (Reference#) field in sales transactions on the Customer Statement?

To display the Reference# field in the customer statement PDF:

*   Go to **Settings** in the top right corner.
*   Select PDF Templates under _Customization_.
*   Select the **Customer Statement** module.
*   Hover over the template and click **Edit** to customize the template.
*   On the Edit Template page, go to _Transaction Details_ on the left sidebar.
*   Click the **Document Details** section to view options under it.
*   Navigate to the _Document Information_ section and check the box next to **Reference Field** option.
*   Now, click **Save** in the top right corner to update your preferences.
