# How do I compare my previous month’s profits with my current month?

You can compare your previous month’s profit with the current month. Here’s how:

*   Go to **Reports** on the left sidebar.
*   Click **Accountant** under the _Report Category_ and select **Profit and Loss** or search for **Profit and Loss** in the _Search Report_ field.
*   Select the date range for which you want to generate the report.
*   Choose **Compare Based on Period/Year** from the options provided in the _Compare_ section.
*   In the **Compare With** section, choose _Previous Periods_ from the dropdown and select the **Number of Period(s)**.
*   Click **Apply**.

Similarly, you can compare the below reports with the previous years/periods as required.

*   Balance Sheet
*   Sales by Item
*   Sales by Customer
*   Purchases by Item
*   Purchases by Vendor
*   Trial balance (when generated for Date range)
