# How do I restrict users in my organization from updating the price of items?

To restrict users from updating the price of items in your organization, you need to update their access to the Purchase Price and Selling Price custom fields to Read Only. Here’s how:

*   Go to **Settings** in the top right corner of the page.
*   Click **Items** under _Items_.
*   Go to the **Field Customization** tab.
*   Hover over the _Selling Price_ and _Purchase Price_ fields, click the dropdown icon, and select **Configure Access**.

*   Update the access to **Read Only** for the required roles.

*   Click **Save**.

Users of the selected role will not be able to update the price of items in your organization.
