[Back](./) # My email address is linked to a public domain, and I want to send emails using my own address instead of the Zoho email address. What should I do? If you use an email address that belongs to a public domain, such as **Gmail** or **Yahoo Mail**, in the **From** address of emails sent from Zoho Books, it will be replaced with **[message-service@sender.zohobooks.com](mailto:message-service@sender.zohobooks.com)**. This happens because **SPF** and **DKIM** records cannot be added for public domains, which are necessary for email authentication. While it’s recommended to use **[message-service@sender.zohobooks.com](mailto:message-service@sender.zohobooks.com)** to prevent your emails from landing in spam, you can still choose to send emails from your public email address by following the steps below. 1. Click the **Settings** icon at the top right corner in your Zoho Books account. 2. Go to _Reminders & Notifications_ and choose **Email Notifications**. 3. In the _Emails_ pane, click **Sender Email Preferences**. 4. Under the _Public Domains_ section, click **Change Setting**. 5. In the _Emails Are Sent Through_ box, choose the **Email address of sender**. 6. Click **Save** to update your the preference. **Note:** For emails sent from DMARC-enabled public domains like Gmail, **[message-service@sender.zohobooks.com](mailto:message-service@sender.zohobooks.com)** will be used, even if you have selected the sender’s email address. * * *
