# Delete Organization

**Prerequisite:** It is strongly recommended to take a backup of the organization before deleting it, as all data will be permanently deleted. To backup your data in Zoho Books, go to **Organization** > **Settings** > **Data Backup** > **Backup Your Data**. Read our help document for more details on [Data Backup](/us/books/help/settings/backup.html).

To delete your organization:

*   Log in to your Zoho Books organization.
*   Click the _Organization Name_ dropdown in the top right corner, and select **Manage** from the panel that appears.
*   Under _My Organizations_, hover over the organization you want to delete, click the dropdown to the right, and select **Delete**.
*   In the _Delete Your Organization_ popup, read the information provided, check **I want to permanently delete this Zoho Books organization and its contents**, and click **Delete Organization**.
