# What are recurring payments?

A recurring payment is an amount charged by a business (you) to its client (your customers) for a subscription based product/ service on a regular fixed interval. The amount, date and frequency of recurring payment is usually pre-defined and agreed upon by the both merchants and their customers. These payments are usually done through credit and debit cards and bank accounts.
