# How do I record transactions without invoices so they are included in my MTD quarterly update?

You can record a transaction directly in the relevant bank or cash account without creating an invoice. Here’s how:

*   Go to _Banking_ on the left sidebar.
*   Select **Petty Cash** or the **Bank Account** in which you received the payment.
*   Click **Add Transaction**.
*   Select **Sales Without Invoices** under _Money In_.
*   Enter the required transaction details.
*   Click **Save**.

The transaction will be considered when generating the relevant MTD quarterly update, based on its date and tax basis. Ensure that the selected revenue account is mapped to the appropriate income category while finalising the quarterly update.
