Why am getting an error when I try to map accounts to an expense category while generating a quarterly update?

While generating an MTD quarterly update, you may get the following error while mapping accounts:

“Accounts cannot be added to the category as you’ve already added one or more accounts to the Consolidated Expense category. Deselect the selected accounts from Consolidated Expense category and try again.”

This happens because you cannot map an account to an individual expense category if the account is already mapped to Consolidated Expense.

To resolve this:

Go to Filing & Compliance on the left sidebar and select Income Tax.
Select the relevant quarterly update.
In the Map Accounts tab, deselect the account from Consolidated Expense.
Map the account to the required individual expense category.

Alternatively, retain the account under Consolidated Expense without mapping it separately.
