# Can I create an invoice for the services I provide?

Yes, you can create an invoice for the services you provide.

First, you have to create an item and select service as the type. Here’s how you can do this in Zoho Books:

*   Go to the _Items_ module on the left sidebar and click **Items**.
*   Click **\+ New** on the top right corner of the page.

*   Select the _Type_ as **Service**.
*   Enter the other necessary details.
*   Click **Save**.

Now, to create an invoice for this service you just created:

*   Go to the _Sales_ module on the left sidebar and select **Invoices**.
*   Click **\+ New** on the top right corner of the page.
*   Under Item Details, enter the service item for which you are charging your customers.
*   Enter the other necessary details.
*   Click **Save and Send** if you want to send the invoice to your customer immediately. Or, click **Save as Draft** if you want to send it to your customer later.
