Commission Payout Process 

Zoho has grown rapidly over the last several years, thanks to your support and engagement. As a much larger and more complex organization, with significant operations in multiple geographies, the statutory and regulatory requirements placed on us have also grown. 

Starting April 1, 2018, we have implemented a few changes in the ways we manage and administer partner commissions. 

1. Partners must submit invoices against accrued commissions 

Our statutory and audit requirements require that we have invoices in place, against all commission payouts. This is required to establish an audit trail and serve as a common system of record. 

2. Commissions will be billed and paid out of different Zoho billing entities 

1. Zoho US: Customers from US. Invoices will be paid in USD -  Sample invoice to download

2. Zoho Netherlands: Customers from Europe. Invoices will be paid in Euros  - Sample invoice to download

3. Zoho India: Customers from India. Invoices will be paid in INR - Sample invoice to download

4. Zoho Singapore: Customers from all other regions. Invoices will be paid in USD - Sample invoice to download 

5. Zoho Canada: Customers from Canada. Invoices will be paid in CAD - Sample invoice to download

6. Zoho Japan: Customers from Japan. Invoices will be paid in JPY - Sample invoice to download

7. Zoho Germany: Customers from Germany. Invoices will be paid in EUR0 -  Sample invoice to download

8. Zoho Australia: Customers from Australia. Invoices will be paid in AUD - Sample invoice to download

14. Zoho South Africa: Customers from South Africa. Invoices will be paid in ZAR - Sample invoice to download 

15. Zoho Saudi Arabia: Customers from Saudi Arabia. Invoice will be paid in SAR - Sample invoice to download 

NOTE: Countries like Singapore, Mexico, Nigeria, Brazil, Indonesia, South Africa and Saudi Arabia falls under US entity. So, commissions will be paid in USD.

Keep in mind that customers may be invoiced in currencies that may differ from the currencies in which the commissions will be paid.

So, what does a Partner need to do? 

When seeking a commission payout, Partner must issue invoices against the appropriate Zoho billing entity, where the customers have been served. As an example, for commissions accrued in the US (serving US customers), Partner must invoice in favour of the US entity (ie, (a) above). 

NOTE: In the Partner Store, Partner can view their commissions organized against different jurisdictions. 

3. Other mandatory documents required from partners.

Partners located in US should submit their latest w9 form. Partners located in India should submit their PAN details. These details can be submitted in the partner store using the following link:

4. Commissions can accrue for no longer than 6 months 

Partners can accrue commissions for a maximum of six months. They must be invoiced before this period. This allows us to close our books in time. It also helps us record expenses against the same period in which they were incurred, as mandated by any audit process.
