Meet Tyler Morley

Tyler Morley is the Zoho data specialist for Nascentia Health. He has five years of experience in healthcare administration, including two years in his current role. Tyler focuses on leveraging technology to simplify complex processes and run scalable, data-driven healthcare operations. He implemented and configured multiple Zoho apps, including Zoho Sign, to streamline workflows, improve data visibility, reduce manual intervention, and drive measurable operational efficiency across teams.

What does Nascentia Health do?

Founded in Syracuse in 1890, Nascentia Health boasts a legacy of 135 years in home care expertise, with employees in more than 700 locations across 50 counties in New York. It's one of the largest home healthcare agencies in the state, offering in-home skilled nursing, therapy, telehealth monitoring, home health aides, and insurance, especially for the elderly. They provide home care, insurance plans, and nursing services through:

  • Health at home - In-home skilled nursingand therapy
  • Home aides - Nursing support and home health services
  • Health Plus - Skilled nursing for special needs
  • Health options - Managed long term care
  • Health insurance

How does Nascentia Health do it?

Nascentia Health uses a community-based home care model that integrates home healthcare, insurance, and long-term health management. By combining home clinical services with managed care plans, it creates a cohesive system that supports patients across the entire care journey. Caregivers are available around the clock, 365 days a year, collaborating with patients and their physicians to provide tailored care plans. The organization aspires to synergize their existing resource and legacy services into a cohesive healthcare system to fulfill current and future healthcare needs.

The Challenge

"After over a hundred years of paper-based operational practices, digitization became mandatory for Nascentia Health to maintain the level of cybersecurity and efficiency required for healthcare organizations today.

Compliance and cybersecurity standards

"Protecting sensitive data requires a proactive, multilayered approach with continuous monitoring and strong access controls," explained Tyler. Before digitization, Nascentia Health grappled with managing sensitive healthcare data and meeting compliance standards. "As a large organization handling critical patient and member information, we faced resource constraints—including personnel, time, and budget—that made it difficult to implement and maintain robust security measures," Tyler said. Given the healthcare industry's high-risk threat landscape, Nascentia Health was a frequent target for cyber threats.

Cybersecurity governance is also essential for protecting patient trust. Federal HIPAA rules and New York's 23 NYCRR Part 500 set strict standards for patient data and require robust security programs for insurance and managed care entities. Without the right technology in place, achieving and sustaining compliance with these standards became an uphill battle.

Friction in employee onboarding and organization-wide information sharing

Tyler explained, "Onboarding new and returning members was fragmented across multiple care management systems, spreadsheets, and shared inboxes." These silos caused unnecessary delays, increased administrative burden, and increased the risk of error. Nascentia Health also struggled to ensure consistent, organization-wide knowledge sharing. As Tyler highlighted, "It was critical that no single individual held unique expertise, and that every team remained educated on evolving standards, regulations, and emerging threats."

The Solution

Nascentia Health evaluated alternatives like Adobe Acrobat Sign and Doxy.me, but "Zoho Sign emerged as the best fit," said Tyler, as it enabled "faster document turnaround, streamlined workflows, and audit-ready compliance, which directly improved operational efficiency for our care teams."

Quick onboarding and audit-readiness

Nascentia Health’s Managed Long-Term Care operations use Zoho Sign to support onboarding and ongoing member documentation. Tyler shared that this implementation now "enables secure, efficient, and auditable execution of member agreements and related documents."

State and federal compliance

Zoho Sign has also strengthened Nascentia Health's compliance readiness, both at the federal and state levels. "Documents executed through Zoho Sign have successfully withstood recent New York State Department of Health audits and continue to support our adherence to applicable state and federal regulatory requirements," said Tyler.

Integrated suite = frictionless operations

A comprehensive system of integrated tools—including Zoho Sign, CRM, WorkDrive, Forms, Projects, and Vault—has improved visibility across departments for enhanced operational efficiency and security. By reducing reliance on manual effort, Nascentia Health's teams are able to prioritize high-quality care while protecting patient data.

Benefits and ROI

Digital signature and agreement management has significantly enhanced the onboarding process for new members of Nascentia Health’s Managed Long-Term Care program. Zoho Sign's seamless integration with Zoho CRM has also strengthened existing workflows and substantially reduced the time and administrative effort required to obtain signatures from members or their authorized representatives.

Tyler elaborated, "Nascentia realized measurable ROI through efficiency gains and cost savings. Zoho Sign reduced document preparation by one hour per agreement and shortened registered nurse assessment completion by 30 minutes, resolving reliability issues from our prior solution." Enrollment has also increased. "We saw a 49% conversion rate in referral enrollments after we began using Zoho Sign, which is a 7% jump from our pre-Zoho Sign conversion rates. These efficiencies enabled 15 to 20 additional member enrollments per month, accruing to approximately $500K in additional annual revenue."

Looking Forward

Tyler is satisfied with his Zoho Sign and overall Zoho experience. He looks forward to exploring newer Zoho apps and seeing which other operations can be automated with app integrations at Nascentia Health.
