How to enable Desktop Notification?

The browsers like safari, chrome and firefox will allow displaying the desktop notifications. SalesIQ can make use of it to show the chat notifications on your desktop.

Uses of Desktop Notification:

  1. You will not miss any chat request from the visitor when you are working on a different tab or browser.
  2. When a new message arrives while working on a different tab and your sound notification is off. Then the desktop notification can help you to reply instantly without any delay.
  3. On each browser, we have different settings to turn on desktop notifications. Here we explained how to enable desktop notifications in three different browsers:
    • Chrome
    • Safari
    • Firefox

How to turn on desktop notification on Chrome?

  • Sign in to Zoho SalesIQ using your login credentials.
  • A banner will appear, click on the "Turn on" link in the banner (Note:This banner will appear only if the notification is not enabled.)

  • Then, click on the "Allow" button.

  • You will now receive all your SalesIQ notification on your desktop when you logged into your Zoho SalesIQ.

How to enable desktop notifications manually in Chrome?

  • If you did not receive the banner or the link to turn on the desktop notification, follow the below steps to enable notification.
  • Open Chrome.
  • In the upper right corner of the browser window, click the Chrome menu.
  • Click Settings -> Show advanced settings.

  • In the "Privacy" section, click Content settings.
  • In the dialog that appears, go to "Notifications" and choose one of the following:
    1. Allow all sites to show notifications: You’ll automatically see notifications from all websites.
    2. Ask when a site wants to show notifications: You’ll get an alert from Chrome whenever a site wants to show you notifications. This is the default setting.

  • If you choose "Allow all sites to show notification" option then the SalesIQ will not ask your permission to enable notification.
  • Upon choosing the "Ask when a site wants to show notifications" option, the chrome will request your permission to enable the notification on Zoho SalesIQ.
  • Click on the "Allow" button.

How to turn on desktop notification on Firefox?

  • Sign in to Zoho SalesIQ using your login credentials.
  • A banner will appear. Click on the "Turn on" link in the banner (Note:This banner will appear only if the notification is not enabled.)

  • A dialog box appear requesting your permission to enable desktop notification. Click on the "Always Receive Notification".

  • SalesIQ will now notify on your desktop if you receive a chat or message from your visitor.

How to enable desktop notifications manually in Firefox?

  • The Mozila Firefox has the notification option as default. But if you did not receive the permission request then follow the procedure to check the notification settings.
  • Open Mozilla Firefox.
  • Click on the lock symbol that appear near your SalesIQ URL.

  • Select the Secure Connection arrow -> More Information.
  • Now navigate to the permission tab. In the Show Notification, check whether the "Use default" or "Allow" option is selected.

  • Then, click the Menu button in the top right corner.
  • In Preference -> Content ->Notification, click on the choose button.

  • The notification enabled websites will be listed, check if SalesIQ is Allowed on the Notification Permissions.

  • A dialog box appear requesting your permission to enable desktop notification. Click on the "Always Receive Notification".

How to turn on desktop notification on Safari?

  • Sign in to Zoho SalesIQ using your login credentials.
  • A banner will appear. Click on the "Turn on" link in the banner (Note:This banner will appear only if the notification is not enabled.)

  • Then, click on the "Allow" button.

How to enable desktop notifications manually in Safari?

  • If you did not receive the banner or the link to turn on the desktop notification, follow the below steps to enable notification.
  • Open Safari.
  • Select Safari -> Preference on the settings band.
  • In notification tab, check the "Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notification".

  • Then, you will receive the enable notification pop-up, click on the "Allow" button.

  • If you wish to disable the notification, navigate to Safari -> Preference -> Notification. The notification permission enabled/disabled website listed, change the option to "Deny" near SalesIQ.
  • The desktop notifications disabled in your salesIQ site.

  • You will now receive all your SalesIQ notification on your desktop when you logged into your Zoho SalesIQ.
