We have been following recent regulatory developments involving international data transfers in the European Economic Area (EEA). In light of the Schrems II decision by CJEU and decisions by various other Data Protection Authorities regarding transfer of personal data to the United States (US) from EEA, we believe that the translation feature supported by Zoho SalesIQ through Google Translation may be considered not in line with GDPR by certain EU Data Protection Authorities due to processing of chat transcripts in Google’s servers located in the US. Hence, we have decided to discontinue the default support of Google Translate (as a sub processor) from Zoho SalesIQ for our Enterprise Customers from April 2nd, 2022.

We have been working on providing continued support for this feature without transferring data to the US. We have come up with two options for our customers:

Option 1: We will be happy to offer you our own In-house Translation Service (Zoho Translate) for free. Zoho Translate is currently in Beta mode (English, German, Chinese - Simplified, Russian, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Arabic, Czech, Hungarian, Dutch, Polish, Romanian, Swedish, Japanese, Tamil, Hindi). We are continuously upgrading and improving Zoho Translate to provide you with a satisfactory translation experience.  

Option 2: You can choose to continue using Google Translate from your SalesIQ account, with your Google Translate credentials. We have prepared a User Guide for your ease to help you during this transition.

We will automatically enable Zoho Translate for all our customers in the EU data center on April 2nd, 2022. However, you can go to your account anytime and switch to using Google Translate using your credentials.

Please note that the older version of Zoho SalesIQ will cease to function on April 2nd, 2022. Please switch to the all-new SalesIQ 2.0 as soon as possible for newer features and seamless usability.
