[Back](./) # How do I switch my customer’s payment method from a credit card to their bank account, and vice versa? To switch your customer’s payment method that’s used for auto-charge, you will have to delete the current payment method first. [Learn how](/qa/billing/kb/customers/delete-payment-method.html). **Insight:** This is only if you want to switch between a bank account and a credit card. If you just want to change the credit card that's used for auto-charge, you don't need to delete the current payment method. [Learn more](/qa/billing/kb/customers/can-customer-update-bank-detail.html). Next, you need to add your customer’s new payment method. Once, you’ve added your customer’s new payment method, you should associate it to their subscription. To do this: * Go to the **Subscriptions** module from the left sidebar. * Find the subscription for which you deleted the payment method. * Click **Associate Payment Method**. * Select the newly added payment method. Now, this payment method will be used for auto-charging this subscription in the future. * * *
