Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects
Zoho Vault is an online password manager for teams. If you are struggling with remembering numerous passwords, Zoho Vault can keep them safe for you. It helps to store, share, and manage your passwords from anywhere. Zoho Vault is the best way to share sensitive information securely.
The Zoho Vault extension for Zoho Projects enables you to share passwords with your contacts and third-parties while using different levels of access permissions. All you need to do is enter your Zoho Vault passphrase to access your passwords and other confidential data inside Zoho Projects.
Installing the extension
To install the extension:
- From the Projects homepage, navigate to Setup.
- Under Marketplace, click All.
- Select the Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects extension.
- Click Install to proceed to the installation.
- Select a portal and click Continue.
- In the General section, set your preferences. Select the profiles and projects you want the extension to be shared with or given access to.
- Agree to the terms of use and click Install Extension. You will be taken to the installed extensions list page.

- Click Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects.
- Navigate to the Connection section and click Authorize. A pop-up window will open.
- Click Accept to authorize Zoho Vault.
Accessing the extension
Once installed, the extension can be accessed from the top band of the Zoho Projects.
- In the top band, click the
Extensions icon.
- From the list, select Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects.
- Enter your Zoho Vault's passphrase and click Access Zoho Vault.


Managing Secrets
When hovering over the secrets in the Secrets List, you will be able to view either or all of the three icons, based on the provisions given while creating the secret.
- Click
to redirect to the URL provided for the secret.
- Click
to view the secret details.

- Click
to share the secret. On clicking, select the Project, the User, and the Share Type. Click Share.

If the selected user exists in your organization, the secret will get shared directly to their Vault account. If not, you will get an Encryption Key pop-up, which has to be shared with the user manually.

Uninstalling the extension
You may wish to uninstall the extension whenever it is no longer needed.
To uninstall the extension:
- From Projects homepage, navigate to Setup.
- Under Marketplace, click All.
- In the left panel, click Installed. You will be taken to the installed extensions list page.
- Select the Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects extension.
- Click Uninstall. A pop-up will be shown.
- Click Uninstall Extension.
