Task Templates

Task templates allows you to save your tasklists and its related tasks so that you can reuse them for your projects in Zoho Projects.

Add Tasklist template

In Task Templates, you can find the Add Task List Template button in the right menu panel.

  1. Click Add Task List Template link
  2. This opens a add tasklist template form
  3. Type the name of your tasklist
  4. Click Add Task List Template button and this creates a tasklist template

Edit / Delete Tasklist template

Move the mouse pointer over the desired template tasklist to edit, click Action menu and then click Edit Task List.

  1. Modify the tasklist details as required.
  2. Click Update Task List Template to update your tasklist template name.

To delete a tasklist template:

  1. Move the mouse pointer over the desired tasklist template, click Action menu and then click Delete Task List.
  2. This displays an alert message with OK/Cancel button.
  3. Do you want to remove this template list and related template tasks.
  4. Click OK to delete the tasklist template forever.

Reorder Tasklist templates

  1. Click Reorder Task List Templates link
  2. Just drag and drop to reorder the tasklist templates
  3. Click Save Order link. This saves the order of the tasklist templates

Add a Task template

  1. In TEMPLATES section, click Task Templates.
    • If you have already saved or added task templates, they will be displayed here.
  2. Select the desired template list to add tasks and then click Add Task Template.

  3. In Task, specify the template task name.
  4. In Start After, specify the time period after which the template task must start.
    • The Start After and Duration days in task templates will be shifted based on the projects start date.
  5. In Duration, specify the time period to set the end date for the task template.
  6. Click Add Task Template to add the template task to the tasklist.

Edit a Task template

  1. In TEMPLATES section, click Task Templates.
    • If you have already saved or added task templates, they will be displayed here.
  2. Hover over the template task to edit, click Action menu and then click Edit Task.

  3. Modify the task details as required.
  4. Click Update Task Template to update the template task.

Add a subtask to a template task

  1. In TEMPLATES section, click Task Templates.
    • If you have already saved or added task templates, they will be displayed here.
  2. Hover over the template task to add a subtask, click Action menu and then click Add Subtask.

  3. In Task, specify the subtask name.

  4. In Start After, specify the time period after which the template task must start. 
  5. In Duration, specify the time period to set the end date for the subtask template.
  6. Click Add Task Template to add the template subtask to the tasklist.

Reorder Task templates

    1. In TEMPLATES section, click Task Templates.
      • If you have already saved or added task templates, they will be displayed here.
    2. Click Reorder and then drag and drop the task template as required.
    3. Click Save Order to save the new task template order.

Delete a Task template

  1. In TEMPLATES section, click Task Templates.
    • If you have already saved or added task templates, they will be displayed here.
  2. Hover over the template task to edit, click Action menu and then click Delete Task.

  3. A warning message for deleting the template task is displayed.
  4. Click OK to delete the template task.
